But I might keep a condo in Columbia when I retire." At today's press conference. Actually got Korncoot upset. Sounds like it may actually be dawning on them that he will never care about them.

LOL totally misquoted and out of context

Florida is always going to be his school, his wife, daughter and even Steve Jr. has a graduate degree from there. We are Gators but we are Gamecocks now and he hopes the Gators finish second in the East this year and we finish this first.
Spurrier says when his coaching days are over in four or five years that he hopes to keep his condo across the street and keep his connections in Columbia.
He was asked how he would want to be remember compared to Florida and Duke when he is done coaching. It was a question from the crowd.
---I have no problem with any of that.

Do you have a problem with Paul Dietzel being more of an LSU guy than a SCar guy?
What about Holtz? He is more of a ND guy than a SCar guy?
What about Brad Scott? He is more of a Clemson guy than a SCar guy?
Don't worry though. Gamecock Will loves you - he is definitely a SCar guy.

Listen at the 3:50 mark. Also see the website's synopsis:
"Florida is always going to be my school. I love Florida."
He never said he loved the Gamecocks or anything close. He said: "we're Gamecocks now" "I'm a Gamecock now" "This is our team"
Never said he loved or even cared about the Gamecocks or SCu.
Sad to see your fans pimp yourselves out like that. Enjoy the run but remember it is all about him and not at all about you. Even Tanner sold his soul out to Spurrier the moment he called The State paper.

truly believe that Spurrier would love any school as much as his alma mater? There are coaches all over the country that probably love their alma mater more than the school at which they currently coach.
He is their ring of honor. He won a heisman there as a player. They have a statue of him. He coaches a heisman winner there. He won multiple conference titles and one national title there. He'd be a pretty strange individual to NOT love Florida with all his heart.
I do think there is one thing he loves more than Florida. Winning. So as long as he wants to beat his alma mater each time he plays them (which he does by all appearances) so be it.

mater.
It is a good feeling knowing CDS is as passionate about my place as I am.
You guys - no where even close.
Oh well - like someone said - enjoy the ride. It will be extremely short lived.
Duke has never gotten it back, Florida has been a roller coaster at best and it is a WAY better place than that cesspool in Cola with WAY more tradition - and they have greatly struggled at times since the sack left.

Dabo didn't accomplish as much as Bama as Spurrier did at his alma mater.
And frankly, if I'm Dabo, I would put no place on this planet closer to my heart than Clemson. No other school in the country would have given Dabo the opportunity that that Clemson did. So of course he should have strong feelings for Clemson.

He should've saved that comment til he retires.

This is silly. As I Gamecock fan, I couldn't care less if he hates the school and everything it stands for. As long as he's winning 9, 10, 11 games a year for the school, I'm just fine with it.

You don't care what it takes as long as you win. We want to win the right way with classy players/fans/coaches. If your players don't believe that you're fully behind them and the school then what respect will they have for the school themselves.
Fact is that Suprrier and most of the players there seem to view SC as a means to an end. Play in the SEC and maybe go to the NFL. Players come to Clemson to play for Clemson because they love Clemson.
