I think it had to do with DK having a "family emergency" and taking off and not communicating it. A family emergency that: "had it been communicated and explained would have been no problem"! Going M.I.A and out of touch was why and DK admits that.
I think some part of DK feels: "they should understand I had a family situation going on and things were crazy for me at that time; but instead i'm in the doghouse"!
An unfortunate situation really!
Being someone in the military I can tell you this: "leaving for a family emergency is no problem and something people understand"! But, leaving for a family emergency and not telling anyone why you left or what's going on or if you are alive or dead and not communicating is never cool"! Even if it's a bad situation - "you just have to say something and that's that"!
Oh well! I am happy it worked out for DK! Honestly, it worked out for Clemson as well as it looks like it allowed Mario Goodrich to blossom as well as the continued excellent play from Andrew Booth.

and these days tech allows you to say something. It isnt rocket scienc and they'd tell their social network. I almost failed a student for pulling two weeks of no shows and the expecting to explain after and get full credit. If I hadnt failed him the previous term I probably would have had him 0 for 2. He squeeaked by and I didnt have to deal with him again.

We were better off with Booth and Goodrich.
DK was terrible against OSU last year.
Michigan was the best game of his career……
Alabama will be tough on JawJa as usual…..

Because Kendrick was a talent upgrade and the personal baggage was not bad enough to have any PR blowback issues for Kirby.
DK pretty much wore out his welcome with Clemson coaches over multiple incidents.
Had DK punched out a female on tape a-la Joe Mixon, Kirby would have had to wait a few more weeks before giving him a scholarship.

Thanks for the responses and information. He played poorly against Ohio State in the playoff game last year. I really don’t believe we missed him and Goodrich became the next man up and now might go in the draft.

I mean it’s been reported in Clemson to anyone paying attention he has problems at home with his new kid and he didn’t let the coaches know. He missed practices, school, and football responsibilities and was already on his final straw at Clemson. It was unfortunate but his behavior, grades, and football responsibilities didn’t meet the standard at Clemson.
Just curious what you’ve heard from your Georgia websites since I don’t visit them? What have you heard as why Kirby took him? Was it his commitment to school, off field character, or upgrade at a weak position for Georgia that mattered most?
