Deshaun Watson

[3]
Mar 26, 2022, 6:26 PM

was cleared by two courts but big mouth Clay Travis has to run his
mouth about him. I wrote an email to the Clay and Buck show and told
Clay that I am a dyed in the wool Clemson fan and was an avid Rush Limbaugh
listener. I was pleased when you took the show but I will never listen to
your big mouth again when I pick up my Grand-daughter from school. I will
listen to something else. I do like Buck but not Clay.

Get XM radio and listen to Symphony instead of people getting paid to not know what they are talking about.

Packard is real good. Another good thing on ESPNU radio is Coach K’s interviews, he gets great guests and has great conversations with them. Good stuff.

I don't know what DW did or didn't do. The burden of proof is much lower in criminal cases than civil cases. D.W. will lose ior settle some of them.

Don't know what he did or didn't do but where is the evidence?

There is none, it is "he said she said".

Wow, such insight. I’ll assume that when sober you can post coherent thoughts.

That's backwards. The burden of proof is lower in civil cases.

Two grand juries returned a no bill

Mar 27, 2022, 9:55 AM

Meaning insufficient evidence to indict. He hasn’t been tried or cleared by any court.

He’s likely to settle all the civil cases with the implied agreement that none of the plaintiffs testify before any further grand juries. That’s what Rothlisberger did. This is why rich people rarely go to jail.

Insufficient evidence means there is not enough evidence to find guilt right? If you can’t find guilt that makes you what?

Grand Juries will “true bill” probably 90% of the cases they

[1]
Mar 27, 2022, 4:29 PM

... have brought before them.

If the DA wants an indictment, he/she will almost always get one.

The fact that Deshaun Watson’s case failed to produce an indictment before two separate grand juries tells you all you need to know about how strong the evidence was.

Like anyone else, Deshaun Watson is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

In order to be proven guilty, he must first be indicted on a criminal charge.

Since he was not indicted, he cannot be proven guilty and is therefore presumed innocent.

That’s all we need to know.

If he buckles on a civil settlement, that’s up to him, but I sincerely hope he will not settle any money on these women and their shyster lawyer.

90% seems a stretch***

USA's don't bring a case anymore unless it is iron-clad (second-hand from a couple A-USA's I knows), so the federal indictment rate is close to 100%. States is different.

the Pickens County grand jury.

Yes, I agree. 90% is low.

I think we “no billed” two cases in two years.

Largely because, as you say ... the DA was presenting each case and basically calling the shots.

Grand Juries of this type do give a true bill on most cases. That is because they only hear from one side.

A good example that comes to mind is once when a cop was wrongly accused. The DA sent it to Grand Jury as he knew they would not indict and he would not have to risk political capital -- but they did. No matter, he then just threw it out.

Grand Juries have no legal training, and there is no one with that in the room. The hearings are not a trial. On most cases there is one person giving them a quick summation. They tend to always vote as to the slant given them.

One does not have to indicted by grand jury to be tried. One can be indicted and not be tried. It is a waste of time and $$. The DA calls all the shots.

Failure to Indict = Better Than Cleared

Mar 29, 2022, 9:26 PM

And lots of innocent people settle to avoid mess of court. DW4 certainly used some questionable judgement, but as of right now he is 100% clean until proven otherwise.

He is innocent from the beginning

Mar 27, 2022, 10:01 AM

The first women tried to get six figures money from him, but he refused it. The lawyer is more greedy than others. He found other called victims to try to make a big case. He wants to settle down a big money.
We all know what personality DW is. I trust what I saw not what I listened

DW was not cleared of any counts, that can only be done by trial.
In my book he is innocent until convicted after all evidence is presented.
Grand Jury is a scape goat for political DAs who are elected.

No matter what a Grand Jury says, the DA can go the other way to docket the case or not to.
I have been before a Grand Jury a hundred times or more. They pretty much go with the slant given them. No evidence is there, just what ever I or someone tells them. They will get many cases over days or weeks, not just one. The sooner they rubber stamp the day's load, the sooner they can go home.

The DA does not want to docket this case, and I don't blame him. Trial by media is for click bait to sell adds.

No civil case as to DW is going to court. Lawyers will rake in a lot of money on both sides and be the real winners. Guilty or innocent, DW is the big looser.
Guilty or not, this will be settled out of court.

I think that depends on the particular state. Federal requires an indictment, I believe.

Not in Texas.

DW has been consistently adamant that he will not settle these cases. Unless and until he shows any cracks in that stance, I believe the civil suits will have to go to trial.
