Not trying to start an argument about DeSantis here, but I think it is fair to say that cutting staff late-July, about six months before the primaries start, is not a sign of a healthy campaign.

But no. Not a great sign. I guess selling the message of Big Gov populism isn't a big winner in trying to separate himself from Trump. The "if we don't like how you're running your business, we'll open a probe" wasn't a big draw from the free market crowd.

The federal government should take a lesson from DeSantis’ management of his campaign budget.
Got unproductive / underperforming staff? Cut them.
… or …
Got staffing luxuries that are not affordable? Trim the fat.
Heavens help us, the federal government could save trillions by cutting back on useless bureaucrats and overall agencies.
DeSantis, despite his apparent affinity towards establishment policies, might be better than my previous thoughts about him.
