Alcohol is sold there, including beer, wine, and liquor. People consume these beverages a lot. I haven’t seen fights breaking out or kids being exposed to debauchery.
This might shock some of you, but I’ve found people there to be just as kind and well-behaved as I do at Clemson sporting events.
We will be fine with alcohol sales at Clemson games.

I don't know if it's still there, but Clemson used to have a jail/holding cell under the stadium also.

The drinking was so bad in late 1990’s Philadelphia had a court in the stadium. Drinking at games in New Jersey has led to some bad behavior too.

I've been to a bunch of pro games (usually the upper deck with the other riff raff) and I've seen plenty of people get in fights or screaming at each other. Are they all, or mostly, alcohol related? Hard to say but it's definitely not an unusual occurrence at all.

Oh I’ve seen girls in the student section at Clemson games passed out sleeping…. The students are rowdy as ####. We used to get up for noon games and start shotgunning beers at 6am. We’d all chug beers out of a cowboy boot too, and we were drunk as heck and rowdy in the stadium but we knew how to keep ourselves in line and enjoy the game. One of the rowdiest games the student section got when I was there was the 2011 game against FSU when we beat them 35-30. They were something like top ten and we went NUTS!

95% of all crimes happen with Alcohol or drugs involved. It’s a fact it contributes to behavior that wouldn’t have happened without the spirits!
The question is - Would it continue to be a family atmosphere at the game?
Would this affect the game that’s changing pro before our eyes?
Will fans change the way they act being Clemson Gentleman & Ladies?
I’m sure the board will carefully consider what’s best for our Tigers!

I’m not taking this whole ordeal seriously, but I just want to point some things out to you.
People’s behavior at the game is not the only reason
How is it going to affect the percentage of car accidents and incidents on the road after the game? Especially a rainy game or a game with some type of inclement weather.
There are a multitude of factors here, cause and effect factors.
You are pointing at only one, and it happens to be in the lower tier of concerns from selling alcohol at games.
And somehow just because all of that had happened by your personal experience it makes it all the same for everybody else.

at tailgates.
Because plenty of people leaving Clemson, SC after the game have been drinking all day with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit, and are driving cars.
Seriously, you should be for a zero alcohol tolerance policy at games.
For that matter, are you also against alcohol being served at other events (such as Fall for Greenville) and at restaurants and bars?

I have no care for this either way, in fact I’ll be someone getting alcohol during the game. Responsibly, as I am sure they be cautious of anyways.
I’m not against it at all. I am just trying to help you because you don’t know how to view things past surface level.
I knew you wouldn’t understand the point of my response, as always
When important people sit down to make this type of decision about the distribution of alcohol, they consider more things than simply how people act at the game when they drink.
You narrowed it down to all importance on fan behavior and misconduct at the game. Like there will be no more problems at all if people are acting right during the game.
Oh wow, yes! You are right! I totally forgot that people drink before and after the game! How could I ever let that slip my mind?
Dude, selling alcohol at the game is just adding onto the amount that people are drinking before and after.
It doesn’t simply make ZERO difference to sell at the game.

One difference between selling alcohol and people bringing their own is liability. If someone chooses to drink at the tailgate before driving home drunk, it's on them if they have an accident. If Clemson sells it to someone for consumption without reasonably accessing if they've over-indulged, Clemson could bare some legal liability. If it's just a fender bender, lawyers probably won't get involved and Clemson probably won't get sued. If there's a death, whoever has the deepest money bag will get pulled into it. But if the decision is based purely on money, then as long as you make more than you have to pay out in wages, legal fees, and settlements, then you do it.

Unless I have been living under a rock, Clemson is limited in mass transit opportunities that go to Seneca, Anderson, Greenville, Spartanburg, Greenwood, Charleston, Columbia, Sugar T!t, and Pumpkintown.

Studies have shown in the 117 of 133 fbs school that serve alcohol it hasn’t increased DWI/DUI/accidents much at all. Most people plan a designated driver. At the end of the day we are still Clemson people. We tend to be smarter than the average coot.

We all knew it was coming even chuckie cheese sells alcohol. One question are they still going to let people leave and return to the game. I figure from a money standpoint they would prefer to not let people leave and return because at halftime they will want you buying the drinks in the stadium.

I’ve been to a lot of pro games as well and alcohol is a factor in most of the incidents that have seen inside stadiums. The same thing does happen at games where alcohol is not sold inside the stadium but at a lower rate. Your response to the poaster who expressed concerns about accidents driving home after the game is simply incorrect. A lot of people drink at tailgates before the game but then have a 4+ hours period of not drinking during the game prior to driving home. I know this is how our group operates. Yes, there are people who sneak alcohol into the stadium but not nearly as many as the amount who will drink if it is made legal and readily available. It will result in more issues there is no doubt. All that said, I don’t have strong feelings either way about alcohol sales in the stadium. Unfortunately, any time you get 80,000 people together there will be some who cannot control themselves. This just gives them more opportunity.

You have not been to too many. Had a couple of buddies that got jumped at a Panthers game and got slap tore up. You can’t see everywhere in a stadium but folks I know that go regularly have some great but honestly sad stories.
Talk to some folks that attend Philly games…

I remember being at a Wake game. I think the were playing ND. All of a sudden a classy lady stands up whirls around and look at the 3 drunks sitting behind her. One of them had thrown up all over her. She had chunks of barf in her hair. The police did come and escort the 3 Miami fans away but not until after they ruined her day.
