They can choke on their crocodile tears.

Eh. I wouldn't be so confident in that prediction....

Let's see what happens over the next few years, in the run-up to the 2026 elections.

We'll have to find out what agencies are gutted, who is hurt by the gutting, who is fired, what services are ended or severely curtailed. We'll also have to find out what part of the work that Leon is doing is illegal.

On one side, you'll have government workers...on the other side, a multi-billionaire sig-heil saluter who has made billions on government contracts, and is likely the biggest jerk in recent memory....

Let's see who people line up with when that argument is made.

I begrudgingly admit that he’s as sharp of a political strategist as they come. He sums it up well when he says grandstanding for USAID makes democrats feel good, but they are falling right into the trap that Trump set for them. If they had their wits about them, they would shut up and pick another fight.

Axelrod's best days are behind him...

2009 called, and wants more advice from him.

What Trump and his minions are illegally doing is trying to destroy the separation of powers, and also install loyalists deep down into whatever agencies they don't destroy. This isn't about "cutting fat".

The Democrats are on the right side of history here, and this is about way more than just USAID & a few thousand government workers.

People are finally waking up. Democrats have been sitting in a corner punch drunk since early November. They're finally standing up a little bit.

If you think fighting for wasteful government spending abroad

Is going to change voter’s minds, I think you are wrong

They democrats should be focused squarely on domestic entitlement cuts

It’s a complete strategic mistake to fight this USAID fight. That’s one that you just concede and dens should spend their time scaring voters that Trump is going to take away social security, Medicare and Medicaid

I’m enjoying watching the blunder and the lack of leadership though. Its amazing the vacuum in the party right now

Most Americans are sick and tired of their tax dollars being abused. As more corruption comes out they will become even more disgusted. Cut the fat. Expose corruption. It’s dadgum time.

That's true. The Democrats are too busy being shocked in front of the cameras

and not busy enough putting forth their own effort to combat the EOs that they don't like and that carry legitimate legal objections.

The best they can do is trot out Shmuck Schumer, with those readers perched at the end of his nose, to stumble through some obviously forced and absolutely uninspiring statement expressing the shock of the affected group. I'm surprised we haven't seen him in one of those African stoles yet this year.
