Friend of a friend is a retired sports editor

Of a prominent big paper in the SE. $EC country. Had dinner with friend and him last night. He covered sports for 26 years, editor for 10. Says to me, "lifelong Clemson fan, huh? I'll tell you this, in 36 years covering sports, I never have met a more genuine human being than Dabo. Trust me, there are a hell of a lot of coaches who are plastic, selfish, businessmen, he is the first one I would want my kid to play for, and the most sincere person I have ever interacted with as a sportswriter, period". He is a UT Vol grad.

Yes we have, and not only Clemson people feel that way, coaches at the college level, the NFL, and even one of ESECPN top analyst/sports caster, has sent their Son's to be under Dabo's care!!!

That's Dabo!

ALL the others rail on him because he isn't theirs.

What I don't get is why some of our own rake him over the coals at certain times.
In my opinion, I would GUARANTEE that there will never be a better stretch of Clemson Football than what we are in right now. I don't know when this stretch will end - I feel like it won't end until Dabo hangs it up . . . but - who knows.
Ask the semiholes about their stretch 20 years ago. They aren't going to get close to that again.
Man o'man - just breathe it all in deeply & fully - it is amazing where we are right now.
There is nobody like our guy - he's not perfect - but he gets it.

With Dabo's insistence of bringing people in, and putting them wherever he has room to put them to see to it that they learn and breathe the Dabo Swinney way of the way things should be done at Clemson, I would say that Dabo is planning for Clemson's FB future after he is gone. Will it work, who knows but, I will bet that is what he is hoping and planning for....

Reconnected with a old friend two years ago. He and I were good friends from the 5th grade through college. We went our seprate ways around the age of 24. He ia a diehard COOT. Shortly after we reconnected we were talking about the success Clemson has endured under Dabo. Dude went off on how fake Dabo is and uses his fake faith and the church to pay players. I asked him did he have a personal relationship with Dabo and witnessed how fake Dabo is first hand. Of course he said no. I told him he was wrong. What you have to understand about this dude is, his love for the COOTS and hate for Clemson has cost him one marrage and several relationships with friends and family members. I ended the conversation with him, told him to take care and dropped him like a hot potato. He is a worse verson of Carolina Jackpot. I kid you not. Dabo is the real dea.

I'm LMAO BC, the very same thing happen with the few coots that I was associated with, and though they were friends until Dabo started the turn around of Clemson FB, their true coot colors came out towards Dabo, and anything Clemson like they were brothers of Satan, and the one that I thought was the better, and the closest to me of those coot friends, the last day that I saw him, was the day that I'd heard enough, and I had reached my breaking point, and I kicked the living chit out of him in my back yard, and sent him on his way staining my deck with his blood bc, the 1st punch of many, moved his nose over to his cheek bone!!!
This is a fact, I ask him to leave several times before his mouth caused me to snap, and I'm pretty sure that bc he was bigger than me, he felt that he could punk me in my yard, in front of my wife, and other friends before he left, he failed that test. I've never seen or heard from him since, or after the police left my house, with my side of the story, and the story of everyone who witnessed what was the truth. The police says, once you have asked someone to leave your property, and they refuse, everything afterwards is on them, oh well, I'm better off without make believe friends!!!

If SCar fans had nothing else to go by on Dabo there’s one thing he’s known for that they should respect & appreciate-the Five Bomb. How many pix are there of Dabo with them 5 bombing him? And he knew but he rolled with it. All in good fun, all about sportsmanship and knowing when it’s said & done we’re all God’s children. That should tell them enough right there.
Do they think Spurrier or Muschamp would have done that with Clemson fans? Oh hail no. Now with Beamer we not gonna have enough fingers looks like!!

I am not religious and generally scornful of the coaches who use religion to lure recruits. Dabo is the real deal. He walks his walk and IS who he seems. I used to say (jokingly) that I was President of Atheists for Dabo. I love the man.

Consistency!

This is what Dabo displays in his day-to-day walk of faith, what he encourages and teaches to his coaches & players, and what he recommends & praises from others!
We can all stumble & fall along the road of life...but to consistently get back up, brush yourself off, and keep going is what inspires & motivates others to do the same. It takes faith to do that.
Dabo affects everyone around him in this way....it's called "discipling".
The Love of Jesus is what he has that people admire. He's ready to tell anyone who wants to know about Jesus like all Christians should.
Carrying out The Great Commission!!!
