that's ever happened to Clemson football. Where we are as a program and the national respect is head and shoulders above anything I could've imagined 5 years ago. The best recruits want to come here and play for him. Watching how much the players love him is just awesome!! He takes up for our team and doesn't allow anyone to put Clemson in a negative light. I wasn't around during the Ford era, but I think before it's all said and done dabo will go down as the greatest coach in Clemson history.

...still only an upper mediocre program though.
Charley Pell, believe it or not for putting us in the national spotlight.
And of course Danny who took us to the promised land.
It's a different game these days mostly offensively. I believe Dabo's team today is slightly better and deeper overall than Danny's best teams...edge going to superior modern offensive strategy. We had some beastly defenses back then, we easily equal that level of play if not slightly better.
Dabo will end up being our "Bear", I'm quite certain.

Charley Pell? Yes, I guess we should thank him leaving on...

the night train, which gave Danny the opportunity. And Pell's tactics were what really got us in trouble with the NCAA a few years later.

I was a student during Hootie Ingram to Charlie Pell, started in'72....... I'll take Dabo over any of them! No doubt, Howard and Ford are legends, but Dabo will surpass them all before his time is up, he is the most well rounded coach in the country right now, would not trade him for anyone, living or reincarnated!

That was a terrible 4 yr span. Will have to credit Hootie for one thing though. Without him pushing it, we probably never would've gotten our great Paw logo.
