As I said last weekend, everyone kept saying, from Posters, to Fans, to talking heads about Dabo being so good because of his Coordinators and Asst. Coaches. Seems like it was just the opposite, his Assistants and Coordinators might have good because their HEAD MAN made them good! You think......

Exactly…..should make us even more thankful to have Dabo as our HEAD coach…..many coaches may be great assistant coaches but very few make great head coaches……we are blessed!

I don't fully buy that. You're crazy if you don't think Venables is a defensive genius or Chad Kelly/Jeff Scott great offensive minds (I think Elliott is terrible). But the skillset of an offensive/defensive coordinator is entirely different from that of a head coach. Venables is one of the greatest defensive coordinators, but I never really saw his personality fitting that of a head coach. I don't know that Dabo would be a very good offensive coordinator, but he's a great college head coach.

I thought K-State was a better fit for him. Wouldn’t be near the pressure there year 1 as there is in Oklahoma.

Not so far but it's early on two of them.

Jeff Scott took over a dumpster fire at USF from what I've heard. They sort of knew this would be a complete rebuild. He may get them pointed in the right direction yet.

Too early to tell with Veneables and Elliot. Need time to recruit players

They all landed in difficult spots for the NIL era. The rich get richer etc.

And you forgot to mention the first Asst to depart for greener pastures

I said this to someone the other day. Not everyone is meant to be a head coach. There have been a number of great coordinators who just couldn’t succeed as a head coach. I don’t blame them for taking there shot.
