Dabo went "all in" on football.

Until then we where still wandering in the wilderness of post Ford. I believe the powers that be have given a ton of support to Brad and the basketball program during his 13 1/2 year run. At some point the coach has to take control and be the person that makes the program something to get excited about.

I grew up watching Ellis's teams. I was a student during the Barnes' last 2 seasons. Larry made me sad. And I became a student again during Oliver's time. I've seen a lot of crap basketball. Brad has been coach for a third of my life and all I see with him is average. We went 16-15 the year we beat NC State, UNC (at Chapel Hill), and 3rd rank Duke all in a row, a tobacco road miracle. We can do better. We demand it in every other sport on campus. Even the new sports hit the ground running and have more excitement than a season of Brad basketball.

I was guilty 7 years ago of saying he just needed a little more time. Well, he's had that. Now it's time to move on. Who would we get? Who cares? A better coach has to be willing to come just based on how long we've put up with average. If it happens to be another Larry, fire him after a few seasons. Not like we would be wasting possible NCAA tournament appearances.

If your argument is that Clemson basketball, on average, has always been this then accept that fate. Become the destination of up and coming coaches that want to use us as a stepping stone. At least that would be entertaining. And for the love of all thing holy, if we don't think we'll be any better stop wasting money on Littlejohn upgrades.

You cannot equate winning in football to winning in basketball and to expect championships by changing coaches is just fantasy. I agree 100% that if we do not make the NCAA Tournament and win at least a game, it is time for Brownell to go but the next coach will no easier time than we have now.

3 tourneys in 3 years versus 3 in 13. It’s pathetic anyone debates this nonsense.

No one is getting mad because Brad doesn't win championships. I'm sick of average and I believe that the university has done it's part to make the program above that. Brad has not. And we have no clue what the next coach can accomplish because we settle for what we've always been.

Overall the league is down. UNC and Duke are still what they are but everywhere else has ups and downs. A coach in his 14th year should be able to take advantage of that.
