Dabo Tying Riley's Hands (His Pregame Sideline Interview)

Before the game in the sideline interview Dabo said something along the lines of Garret Riley has had to come in and learn the "Clemson Offense." What the hell does that mean? Why hire a guy to bring n his system if you aren't going to let him run his offense. Frankly, the Clemson offense is what has gotten us to this point, so it needs to be thrown out completely and Riley needs to take complete control of the reins.

That's all well and good, but how much input is Dabo giving to the game plan and play calling. From last night, it looked to be about the same as last year. Too much.

Game planning is the offensive staff, including analysts...

game coordinators, assistants, GAs or anyone else on staff used to support the Offense. It works that way on the defensive side as well.
That's how programs work and the why all those staff members are there.
From DHood's article earlier today, last night was 100% Garrett Riley calling plays.
So, Dabo spoke to some of the changes Riley and his system brought, so it's not last years system and from DHood we were assured Garrett Riley was 100% in charge of play calling last night.

Wow, if that really was the message to Riley then we are in worse shape than I thought. I doubt that is what he signed up for when we hired him. He will be on the first plane out of here at the end of the season if something doesn't change.
And before you say this year will ruin his chances, everyone is going to assume he was handcuffed by Dabo and won't lay the blame at his feet. They will say he just made the mistake of taking a bad job.

I had the same reaction to his comments, then watched us run last years offense where once again, every opponent seems to know our pass plays better than we do. That was disappointing.

but didnt catch it in the same effect...I need to go back and watch the entire quote...if thats what he said someone should challenge him on that.
