Dabo to Auburn and Chad Takes Over?
Nov 26, 2012, 4:15 PM
|
|
Auburn seems to be a dodgy job right now.........but a potentially great SEC job. Dabo is from Alabama (and a UA grad)....I just wonder if AU would consider Dabo and if they did, would he take the job? I don't think so, but who knows?
Thoughts?

No one is going to hire Dabo Swinney as their head coach right now.

And yet he hasn't been offered any other jobs since he has been at usc.
I'm not saying he is not a good coach. I'm just pointing out that there are other reasons why no one is looking to hire him OR Dabo. It probably has something to do with THEIR interest (or lack there of) in moving to another job.

If school A has an opening and they put out back door feelers (which always happens) to a current head coach and the coach quietly says no thanks, then you will not see school A make a play for that coach.

Bama alum to fix it doesn't quite sound like what they'd be looking for.
Further, I get the sense that Dabo is looking for a career as a Clemson coach, not as a "Mr. Fixit" for ailing programs.
So no...I can't imagine Dabo going to Auburn.

Why do people think that Clemson loses their coaches? We're Clemson, for God's sake. How many coaches have jumped ship from Clemson without us wanting them to?
Why aren't people looking at Saban? He's doing well at Bama.
I can't believe how badly some of you are buying into this inferiority issue. The ACC sucks right now. That doesn't mean that it always will and that sure as heck doesn't mean that Clemson does.

A program of that stature will go after the big dogs, not Dabo and if what they say is true about Allburn then he doesnt want to go there anyway.
The thought of us firing Dabo now sounds crazy after a 10 win season but every angle has to be looked at. Recruiting has been better Player development, not so good Improvement season to season, yes ACC record improvement, yes Big Wins against elite competition, not so good

Dabo needs to stay.... He is a great recruiter and has more benefits. Just because he loses to South Carolina doesn't mean the world is going to end.

Dabo would assume go back to real estate than coach Auburn. He went to Bama. Nothing against Auburn but that would be like a Clemson grad coaching at SCar. Its like spitting in your own schools face.
