Swinney says he can't believe we are at the end of the first quarter of the season. He says they are trying to continue to build and grow this team and keep improving. Today and tomorrow are critical days in practice, tough and fast

Dabo says he is excited about starting ACC play, the beginning of seven straight conference games. Next up is Georgia Tech, much improved in all areas. He said GT lost the opener against a good N Ill team.

Swinney says the offense will be a challenge and defensively they have a bunch of guys back that have started a lot of games. The strength is the secondary, guys have played a lot of football. A middle backer that has played a lot of football. Not big up front on DL but play big

OL Dietrich Pennington is out - tore his ACL. Swinney said this is very disappointing because he thought Pennignton was going to make an impact this season.

Swinney says GT has recruited better, have some experienced, but the biggest change is that the players have bought into what the coaches are doing. He said it was not just changing coaches and culture, but also an entire scheme system.

Swinney didn't get to watch a lot of the NFL Sunday, but did watch MNF and the Raiders, wondered who was going to win that one. Good to see the former Clemson players play well.

At RB, Swinney feels like they have three players that can start in Shipley and Pace and Dixon. Each brings something different to the table

It sounds like the plan is to redshirt Phil Mafah (which obviously can change), but Swinney says they are looking at week to week situations for him to play. Decided last week wasn't the week. He can play four games. But they would love to hold him if they can.
