I mean, who we got ? Mafah is hurting … the other guy has a busted leg
You gotta run the ball every so often. Cade can’t be the only guy …
We got what ? Like two weeks ? Basic stuff plays. Student body left, student body right everybody pull. And since Randall is a receiver by trade, he will be real good coming out of the backfield and catching passes and whatnot
Really got nothing to lose …
Oh yeah, practice tackling more … try to build up endurance…
One more, Offense needs to play FAST ... no lollygagging between plays. SMU played fast, had our D winded ... off balance ... Chad Morris was big on that and we did real well with less overall talent.
What say you ?
Post tome addendum:
I looked at the roster and we have smorgasbord of running backs. Why not just rotate these guys in and out ? So what if there are like six different running backs. Might as well give 'em all a crack at it and see what happens. Think outside the box NOT, "The lines are your friend, stay between the lines".

there have been worse ideas. They are darn sure not going to give Adams any carries for some reason. I dont know if it is a trust thing or an in the doghouse thing. How about another back then. Mafah so dinged up isnt helping us

I hope they at least have an internal look at some guys:
- Barrett Carter
- Sammy Brown
- Adam Randall
Anybody else who got some high school reps that are currently covered up due to other talent (eg, AR8 getting less reps because of BW12).

Completely agree! That’s why I think AR8 or BC0 would be the best bets over Sammy. They’ve been around the college game a bit longer and probably have a better feel for the blocking requirements. And what to do without the ball, generally.

Unfortunately there’s a it more to the position that can be taught is a couple weeks. One of the biggest is thing is blocking for the QB.

Sammy is too valuable at lb he’s prob our best lb , at this point you have to trust Adams I mean I thought he looked good in the spring game I’m not sure why he hasn’t gotten more carries other than blocking … but one of these guys will have to step up and Dabo and Riley are gonna have to trust em

I like it...because it is better than relying on Mafah and his bad shoulder for 100% of the RB reps.
Pass blocking in experience comments noted as well. So here's my solution (take it with a mountain of salt):
Rotate him in frequently. Line him up in Flanker position. Put him in motion about 3/4 of the snaps that he's in (especially if playing against Man on Man defense). Alternate pitching him the ball to him and having him as a flare outlet.
There. And no, I don't really know what I'm talking about but I still like this idea after seeing Mafah languishing with his injury.

Based on Dabo’s comments today I think we will see more of Eziomume. Been waiting to see more of him.
Offense playing fast is a good idea until you have a lead later in the game. Then you need to be able to run the ball and run the clock.

I've been saying for awhile they need to get creative maybe even line AW0 in the backfield on occasion, gets him the ball in space and clean release.
Id say Randall at rb would be interesting but a tell. His pass blocking is an unknown at this point and id think that would be a liability on passing downs.
Id rather just see where Eziomume is at with a decent work load.

I love Mafah, but he looked to be a real liability late in the game and was visibly having issues with his shoulder. I didn't hear Dabo's comments today on Eziomume, but next man up, correct. Dabo says we like who we got, so time to trust them. Trial by fire I guess.

To be full disclosure and fully transparent ... I have not watched every game this year (no cupcakes) and I do not have a micro knowledge of the players. I have more of a macro view ... ie team looks sluggish, the whole D line went down at once like bowling pins at a Bowling Alley (L'ville) ... their tackling reminds me of 2011 all over again (various, USCAR game), rather unimaginative play calling (various) ... but a lot of times they look really, really good ! I say consistancy in excellence is the key, like buying a Lexus.

It’s next man up. Everyone knows that Mafah is hurt and Haynes injury didn’t look good. If that’s still the case two weeks from now we need to see why we recruited Adams, Eziomume and Green. Haynes got a majority of the snaps in the first half and the offense performed well. He was injured on second half kick and the offense went south from there with an injured Mafah the lone running back option.
