Why create a distraction this close to the opener against LSU with bringing in a Nascar driver? Something none of those kids watch anyways.

I mean Brian Kelly has punching bags with tiger paws on them and here we are changing a rednecks tire for fun. This is like when mackey piler used to talk about toughness because you cant be tough doing all these extra carriculars while the other Tigers are busy preparing for a real game - football. Not race cars.

I played FB while at Clemson and I don't remember ever seeing a celebrity distraction being brought in by the coaches to a practice, for whatever reason. I know things are different these days but my goodness guys, let's concentrate on the task at hand here. geez!

I played FB while at Clemson for 4 1/2 years and after 2-3 weeks of camp would have welcomed the distraction before starting 1st game prep. LSU prep doesn’t start till Thursday in earnest. Give Dabo a break. It’s part of the plan. This year’s group can handle it…. Go CU Tigers and handle the business ahead.

Agree, LSU has been focused and preparing for us for weeks now with a sense of urgency while we are playing silly games and just now turning to LSU prep. Dabo is not the same coach he was when Venables was here and Jeff Scott was recruiting for him. He has not been able to close recruiting deals like he used to and the coaching decisions all year were mind boggling last year. Why does everyone give him a pass for letting Goodwin make dumb decisions and letting spiller run Mafah into the ground ?? Dabo was watching from the sidelines so why did he just stand there looking dumb and not intervening? UGA , Louisville, USC, and almost PITT, exposed DABo for his coaching last year. LSU is loaded with speed and talent and this could set up for a real big loss for Dabo. Do you honestly have faith in DABO to prepare the team and out coach Brian Kelly in this opener? Results will tell the tale and i am afraid that LSU has been very well prepared for this game and laser focused for a while now. WE will soon find out on the field and remove all doubt.

no just tired of losing and being poorly coached in big games. The last 2 openers we have been blown out looking not prepared and poorly coached.

You saw the part where two former Tiger players are working on NASCAR pitcrews , including Sheridan Jones who is in the stock photo on the article ....dressed in his on track uniform ?
It's not a distraction , it's just a cool reminder that after football you might find yourself doing something else and it might be this really exciting career shown here.
I liked this for the team.

Who better to be the team’s designated driver after Dabo takes all their keys than a professional race car driver? The players will always be on time due to speed of service, and in the good hands of a professional. The only problem I see is if any of the players live somewhere that getting to requires turning to the right…

He is always about having fun, which that was.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is step away for a moment to freshen up and come back with renewed focus.
There is only so much practice time they are allowed. There is something about facilitating team bonding and creating a brotherhood that you can't recreate with film study or agility drills.

Watch the film and interviews with Cade and Vizz on Fox 21 and you will understand the genius of Dabo. I am not a NASCAR fan and haven't been since Petty, Yarborough, Roberts and others but our players loved it will always remember the experience.

Distraction? Guys can have some fun and prep as well. I get Dabo, it’s some of these asinine posts that I do not understand.
Maybe it was some type of reward for all their hard work but either way I believe it was fantastic.
