If BV leaves for a head job, who's his replacement?

Bill Snyder at K-State can't coach much longer. He's 75. If that spot opens up the next couple of years and it's offered to Venables, he definitely takes that job with it being his alma mater. Do we go outside and get another big name guy for Defensive Coord. or do we try to hire within like we did on offensive side and give a guy like Hobby a shot?

Depends on how long he stays.

If he stays for 2+ years we hire from within. Less than that and we might go elsewhere. It takes time to get somebody fully trained. Also depends on who's available on the market. Maybe we'll hire Rex Ryan if he needs a job. He's kinda in the same pickle with his new team that his old team had him in, No QB to work with.

Guys, let me explain the sarcasm in this post

1st off, TCU has co-offensive coordinators Wanna say Baylor does too.
MSU (SPARTY) has Co-DCs
OP is an obvious coot troll.
Working a job you don't love, and that doesn't make you happy - leads to trouble in life.
BV and JS are very happy in Clemson. Their title's are the least of their concerns.
Winning championships, changing lives, doing things the right way (so they can look themselves in the mirror at night), raising families in that environment, and being a part of the Clemson family - seems to be not important than what title they hold.
Hence, I'd threw the least likely name to replace BV. And btw, JS's title of Clemson's CO-OC is extremely prestigious. This isn't Presbyterian College. This is Clemson. And this Offense is the Oregon of the east coast. And defenses fear it. From LSU to OSU to UGA to FSU. This offensive product is highly feared, as evidenced by all of the aforementioned defenses faking injuries while on the field with it.
Jeff Scott now runs that.
Whatever the opposite of embarrassing is, is what he is right now.
Thus, the use of his name in my original post.

dabo is building a dynasty

In the years to come we will see many former members of Dabo's staff leading other college football programs. This is the mark of a truly great football coach. One day either Jeff or Tony will get an offer to be a head coach. This will probably happen after our second NC win. We will wish him well and we will continue winning with the one who stays. I am sure a that Dabo and Brent have discussed whether any current staff are capable of stepping up when Brent leaves for a head coach job. Remember, Dabo has shown that he has a plan and is prepared for these contingencies. Spurrier on the other hand, just wants to play golf.
