I had an interesting conversation this AM with a old Navy buddy. He is from Mobile Alabama and is a big Alabama fan and supporter, was even in the 60's when we served together. He told me that Dabo is well known and well thought of in the state of Alabama. He said he knew for a fact that if Saban had gone to Texas, that Dabo would have been the number one candidate for the head coaching job at Alabama. We were talking about things other than football and I thought it was interesting that he threw that in.
No he's not. I have friends and family in Alabama and they like him a lot there. I met some of the Bama coaches this summer when my son was camping there and we spoke briefly about Dabo and Clemson. They spoke highly of him and where he's taken the program. #1 choice....I don't know. (But) he'd be in the mix. So you can stop trolling with the negative talk.
I don't know about all of that, but a guy I used to work for

was an Alabama grad and big donor. When we hired Dabo as an assistant at Clemson, he told me he had met Dabo and talked with him and his family on several occasions in Alabama. He said then that he could not believe that Alabama let Dabo get away, assured me that Dabo was very highly thought of at Bama, and he said that Dabo would be a good head coach one day, and that it would be sooner rather than later.
It's sad, really, that people can't enjoy the success we're

having because they are still so butt-hurt over the fact that Dabo is our coach. I'm very serious when I say that if we go undefeated next year and win it all, I swear there are those who would twist that into proof that Dabo sux - because it took him so long to get it done! For most of these people, it's more important to be "right" than for Clemson to win.
They go to the Walmart and buy a cap and hoodie and brag about 'their college football team.' If they had Clemson University's best interest they would delight in us having a coach with such intergity, winning record and selfless dedication to honor and hold dear our University, it's football team and traditions.
30 wins in three years and all they've to say is, 'he'll never get it done?' Boys, he's already getting it done.
If anyone in a major college even wants to interview him No one is impressed with our team beating 6-8 crappy ACC teams each year, gosh, then he beat the mighty Citadel. He lost big-time to Fla State,a real front runner. Not to mention---How many times to the chickens? Also lost last year to Fla State and the chickens.
Get Real You may be the only ones in the room impressed with his record.
And most Alabama fans I've seen dont care about anyone but Saban and refuse to believe that he could possibly leave. Those that know of Dabo and Clemson generally ridicule us because its a football team that isn't Alabama, at least in my exprience.
Some of you guys are unbelievable, I post a something from a simple conversation between two old friends about Dabo and some of you go off on bashing him. I don't know if what my friend said is fact indeed, but he thought so, and I have know him 50+ years and we served together through some difficult and dangerous days and I never have known him to lie. I have been a Tiger fan since 1950 and I suffered through the Hootie, Red Parker and Tommy West years. Once the coots beat us 56-20. I live in Sumter and I believe there are more coots per capita here than in Columbia, so I dearly want to beat those guys and shut them up. I am disappointed that Dabo hasn't been successful in that, but he has took us farther than anyone since Danny, and I believe He will continue to keep us as a top program. I believe out of 125 division one teams only 18 had as good or better record than us. Right now I wouldn't want to lose him to Alabama or anyone else.
