Best all-time Clemson Tight end?

Who's the best tight end we've ever had? (Pros don't count in this discussion)
As far as criteria, I'd say it's open to discussion. But I think if we look solely at stats we will be robbing ourselves of the overall beauty of a tight end: BLOCKING!
I'll start with recent memory: Briningstool was solid - I think he failed to live up to his potential and needed to add more weight.
Davis Allen had a solid career - will probably be left off of the top lists but overall was a good player. I'd give him the edge over Briningstool for sure.
Leggett - maybe a slight edge over Allen/Briningstool. We will never forget his reception in the Natty which helped setup the TD to win it all, but he was pretty inconsistent as a blocker and as a receiver.
I've already forgotten about Braeden Galloway... no arguments that he was the best.
For my money: Dwayne Allen. Dude could catch, crush opponents, and block down field.

The problem with Brinny was that he didn't block well. Which just means he was a slow WR.
Dwayne Allen would be my vote.

He was for the era he played. A massive man by that era's player sizes. Used to love to see him run with little DB's hanging on. Or watch him just truck people in his way. Was also great at the next level on Super Bowl teams.
Now this era is a different type TE so Legette, Allen, Brinny could be argued as that

I had a few classes with Keith when he came back to get his degree ('13-17~) and he was the man! Also had a few classes with Terry Allen - also the man.
Can't say I had too many w/ the guys who played in that era hahah but I do remember our center, Falcinelli, and I had an 8am. Guy showed up every class (at least the ones I went too... which wasn't many).

Yes, but later. Shawn was my lab partner in Freshman Chemistry fall of 1977. Very sweet and down to earth person - very easy to talk to. I felt lucky to come out of that class with a C.

Kieth Jennings and Dwayne Allen.
Dwayne Allen came up with big time plays ....kind of like Antonio Gates.
Keith Jennings was back in the day.....but when he caught the ball ...good luck trying to bring him down. Lets just say Mike Williams wasn't the only one carrying players on his back. Jennings would carry 3 guys from every team we played during the season .....per catch.....for an extra 7 or 8 more yards.

If their pro careers don’t count, I’d say Bennie, Leggett, then Allen. If you are including pro careers, I’d have to switch Allen and Leggett.

There have been some really good ones. Jennings was a beast. Dwayne Allen was probably my favorite, but also some other really solid guys like Palmer, Seckinger, Ford. Leggett was a monster his last two years. Brinny could be a weapon at times but the drop easy passes. Who do we have coming up?
