D Line Intel from TopGolf

A friend of mine is dating a girl who does large group sales at TopGolf. She tipped us off to a big corporate gig yesterday that was serving unlimited beef sliders and chicken strips so we headed up there with our clubs, a couple peel and stick name badges and a sharpie.

I was a few vodka tonics in when a guy in the bay next to us commented on my Clemson golf bag. It turns out that his son is one of the backup offensive linemen. We hit it off pretty well. He thanked me at least five times for shooting the targets with my rangefinder for him. FYI, if you’re hitting from a bay on Level 3, the flags play 3.5 yards less than the number for slope adjustment.

Anyhow, I asked him how the team looks and he said that his kid was getting the absolute #### kicked out of him on a daily basis by the d-linemen. We all knew that Bresee would be unblockable, but he added that everyone will be amazed at how much Mascoll has improved. This is his money year and he appears to be ready. He ended up FaceTiming his son so I could talk to him in between our sixth and seventh games of TopShot. That was super cool.

The day couldn’t have been better except I slipped and fell on the way out. My wrist still hurts. I honestly think I should sue them. I don’t even think Tiger Woods could stay upright wearing DryJoys on those floors.

The waitress knew that I should be taken seriously when I pulled out a brand new glove and asked her to do something with the plastic sleeve.

I honestly don’t think the floor was even wet. Whoever picked the material for flooring was an idiot for not taking into account that most players would be wearing hard plastic spikes. It happened so fast that I’m not sure if the floors were marble or slicked up concrete.

The worst part is that a couple of teenage girls laughed at me when I fell. I snapped back something about them not wearing golf appropriate attire. That got them to shut their traps.

I must confess. When I clicked on this I thought I was going to read one of those, "I met a guy at TopGolf who has a cousin whose barber is a friend of the janitor who cleans the locker rooms of the visiting team" posts.
