I bought a new 2004 GMC Envoy fully loaded for 32K back in 2005. It was the last 2004 on the lot.
Contemplating a 47K purchase, so that's a big jump. Mid life crisis purchase.

Maybe sticker was $49 and I payed right at $40?
Otherwise it was my Dakota that I bought 6 months out of college. It was $12,700. Paid cash.
Before that I had a jeep cherokee that my dad bought for $3500.
That's it. Only vehicles I've ever bought in my 40 years on this Erf.

I buy used cars now. I did spend around 38k on a Toyota 4Runner Limited in 1998. That was expensive then. I felt I had something fancy. Also, I loved that car. Somebody crashed into me 7 years or so later and it was totaled.

I don't even like to think about all time. I try to block out those kinds of wasteful numbers.
I bought a 2018 GMC Denali 3500 Duramax for $60k, and sold it to CarMax 3 years later for $59K and some change. So really, I don't count that one. I've got a little less than $40K in my current '21 Ram 1500...and that's gonna HURT when I go to trade/sell it. It's prob worth about $25K now. And it only has 30K miles on it.

Teh F150 has been teh best selling truck for like 50 years or something. They hold their value well.
I've been toying with the idea of moving into a Ram 2500 (gas) but I'm not will to come off the ~$40K (plus my truck) I'd need to do it.
