The DePaul program is better than it was when he got there. Brownell hasn't improved the program plain and simple. Op's last three years clemson won more ACC games than anyone, but Duke and Carolina, he took us to only our 2nd ACC tournament final. Anyway you measure it the program has declined.
OP left because he got no support from the AD and very little from the fans.

Numbers rarely tell the full story, but in the case of DePaul basketball, a few numbers can go a long ways toward painting a pale, lifeless image of complete despair. Case in point:
.353: DePaul's winning percentage the last four years under Oliver Purnell.
10: The number of regular season Big East conference wins DePaul has over the last six seasons.
6: Consecutive seasons DePaul has finished in last place in the Big East
2,900: DePaul's average attendance at home games over the last three years in an arena that can sit 17,500.
0: The number of players DePaul has had drafted in the NBA since Wilson Chandler was picked in 2007.
16: The number of players from Illinois in the 2014 NCAA Tournament playing for schools that were not DePaul.
It's hard to know when you've hit rock bottom when every season feels like a new low, each loss registers as a formality and one local recruit after another chooses to spend their college years outside of Chicago. As DePaul continues to sink, few in the city even bother to notice. It wasn't always this way.
