I bet there isn't a thing that anybody could tell Grise to convince him that it was a meaningless game, bc it was the game where he hit his 3d Grand Slam of the season, and that one swing of the bat put him in very rare company in the 2023 baseball season!!!

…grand slam got the crowd noise up to par.
The wife and I were in the lower section right off of 1st base. DBAP is 400’ off of right field wall.
When the count got to 3-1, I said to my wife, this is a perfect count. He can wait for the exact pitch he wants, or get a walk.
Next pitch Grice crushes it to what I think was 430’ into the right field seats.
It was a beauty. But…IF he had “HIT THE BULL”, he would have won a STEAK!

amazing the last few weeks have been. I mean, to even think that this game didn't mean squat as far as the tournamnent is just crazy considering the poor start we had. I told a buddy while running at the track tonight about the strike out comparison a poster made the other day. And, I have no data but when the poster said we only had about 420 strikeouts this year compared to 569 last year, I told my buddy that I would be willing to bet the MAJORITY of those strike outs this year came in the first 30 games.
