Do you have a Credit freeze on your file? Why/why not? How bout that Equifax mess? What do you do to protect your credit info?
I don't rilly care if you bring the funny or the serious, but hopefully I'll get either a chuckle or edumacated.

A lot less of a headache and it doesn't cost anything.
If you put a fraud alert in with one bureau, they notify the other 2.

By the time they catch a fraud, damage is already done.

If you live in SC, freezing your credit at all 3 reporting agencies is free.

Trying to figgure if it's worth all the trouble and if it would actually work. I mean, if hackers can get 140M users data from Experian would a "credit freeze" stop them from going further?

Mine's been frozen for years

Going back to when trikki Nikki stole SC resident identity.
Simple to do, and you can thaw it back out pretty quickly then refreeze if you need credit for something.
At this point I'm kinda all like heck why not. Unless you are applying for credit on the reg.

What if I am constantly buying rental houses?
Sep 15, 2017, 2:01 PM

I guess basically what I am asking is do I have to have it unfrozen to buy a house under an LLC. The bank checks personal stuff, but the account would be under the LLC.
And by constantly I mean about 1 or 2 a year... so not that constant. But I just dont know how hard it would be to constantly freeze and thaw it.

If you have kids. Freeze their credit as well.
Identity thieves love getting the little kids' info because they don't check credit scores or take out loans for years.
If it happens, your child can go into life with a ###### credit score.

Gave me a bidness line of credit but no access yet and a crappy bidness credit card deal. And acted like they were doing me a favor.
Though it'd be a pain, thinking ima switch banks.

I got to know them on a personal level where they say hello to me by name when I walk in. They now put through things immediately when something comes in through an escrow. It typically has a 3 business day wait... or like 7 or something with Wells Fargo (which is one of many reasons I eventually left WF).
