..that his Dad Brad Scott as the usc head coach took Coots to their 1st football bowl ever in "1994".
Geez, Tigers played in their 1st in 1939, I believe, vs BC & their infamous HC Frank Leahy who left after game to coach Notre Dame team.
That's 55 freaking years after ours!! Could that be right?

Coots don't have much good bowl history and have never played in one that was a major when they played. Their first bowl game was in the late 1940s, and that was a bowl that Clemson had declined an invitation. It was about 20 years before they were invited to play in another, The Peach that they lost in 1969.
They lost something like 7 or 8 bowl games before Brad Scott won that one in 1994. They were playing football for almost 100 years before winning a bowl game, and they have not won very many since.

They were 0-8 in bowls until Brad Scott led them to a 3-point victory over 7-5 West Virginia in the 1995 Carquest Bowl.
