Yes I am serious, a message must be sent. send the committee scrambling at the last minute, let them set the matchup first then pull out at the last minute to screw them on purpose. claim a title and preserve the undefeated season.
the message has been sent loud and clear, results do not matter, imagine if the kansas city chiefs finished in first place but mahomes got injured, they sent them a memo saying they were really no longer worthy of being in the playoffs even though they were in first place.
Many people seem to be focusing on the Bama getting in the playoff......what about texas......they were ranked 7th, 3 spots behind fsu and beat a worse lower ranked team in OSU, Louisville was ranked 14 and osu 19, the reason it can not be explained is there is no explanation. even washington being a lock should be called into question look at there strength of schedule.
everyone knows corruption has been bad in college football for a long time, but its getting really bad now, they will never stop gifting the sec titles, and undeserved spots in the playoff.......dont forget 2011 when the entire nation demanded an OSU/ LSU title game instead they gave us a rematch of the LSU BAMA borefest, which was even more boring the 2nd time.
what about 2007 when Michigan and Ohio State were ranked #1 and #2 in the big game, ohio state won 42-39.....instead they said ohio state should play florida which had lost at home to a 7-5 ole miss team.

You must have drunk in the 2000s. Florida lost to a good auburn team on the road and the year was 2006. 41-14 over Ohio State proved they got it right. Florida lost by 1 point at home to ole miss in 2008 then went on a run to win the title.

I stand corrected then, it was 2008 not 2007 that florida lost to a 7-5 ole miss team and was gifted a spot in the title game.

100% agree. 3 SEC teams (two next year)….. What a joke. 4 playoff teams picked on speculation. Wins & losses mean nothing.
So if they say to FSU it does not matter you won every game you played, then why did they turn around and do the exact opposite to SMU and awarded Liberty with the weakest schedule of any team ?

Oregon is probably the best non-champion I’ve seen play — yes, even GA. I’m not into fortune telling, so can always get the results wrong, but as a fan of the sport, Washington has their t’s crossed and i’s dotted.
