Conn's been on the staff for years now

so that part of the article and why we only got one recruit from the state of Georgia last year doesn't really make sense.

I think you are looking at it in a simplistic way. The variables as to why it is finally paying off is to numerous and nuanced to name. A couple being him being the co-d coordinator or his connections in Georgia finally becoming head coaches or AD's or a number of other instances than to just say he's been on the staff for years now so the "finally paying off" sentiment makes no sense.

I believe last year's hiccup with recruits from Georgia had more to do with not being able to get kids on campus much the previous two years.

They all know Clemson by reputation, but until they get here they can't feel the "something in the hills".

I fully expect to once again pull some good players from Georgia in the next cycle.

This Barry Walker does sound intriging. 6'6"-260 tells me

he is not carrying any "bad" weight (Fat, ok?), and at his height, has plenty of room to add GOOD weight once he really hits the weight room and has a proper college diet. He could turn out to be a very quick lineman.
