OU showed we have a long way to go with our defense and our OL before we can become elite.
Heading in the right direction, but still a ways from the finish line.

Get your ticjets early for this game next year in the Valley. Finally an ACC game worth watching. Welcome back FSU. Now to get them thugs in Miami going and the ACC will have 3 legit title contenders each year.

Great win Bret for your Seminoles and for the ACC. They started slow but came on strong.

It was a nice win for sure.
Here are the kneejerk reactions from me and from FSU fans on the net.
1. Mike Norvell is the real deal. The man can coach, but just as importantly his players love him. He has truly changed the culture. He is also unbelievably organized. The infrastructure he has built equals any in the country. He leaves no detail overlooked.
2. The defense has a long way to go. Florida and Oklahoma, even though we won both, showed just how vulnerable our defense is. We all agree on that. What there is disagreement on is how to fix it. Some folks say fire the whole staff and start over. Others say fire a couple of assistants and bring in guys who can coach and recruit. All agree that we have to get better talent on defense.
3. We still have work to do on the OL. When we are inside the redzone, we can't run. When it is 3rd and 1 we can't just line up and get the yard. When it is 4th and 1 we have to rely on some sort of play other than hand it to the RB and get out of his way.
4. But, it is remarkable how far we've come in such a short time. Last year we were 0-4 and people were wondering if Norvell would even get a third year. Many were ready for the defense staff to be fired on the field and not allowed into the locker room. Things were unbelievably low at that point. Since then we are 16-5 and folks are talking about having a chance to win the ACC next year and having a legit Heisman candidate at QB.
5. Most serious FSU fans think we are at least one year ahead of schedule compared to what we hoped for when Norvell was hired.

The only knock I see on Norvell at this point is he can be a bit too aggressive. Three turnover on downs isn't a good look when you're in a defensive battle and field position could turn the game in your favor, otherwise he had enough answers to have them in position to win.

Going for it on 4th down....

....certainly seems to be a weakness right now.
The two common complaints form fans are: 1. He goes for it too often. 2. His play calling is horrible when he does go for it.

10 wins and a bowl victory are a very good season(see what I did there?). The team all coming on to the field to support their injured team mate was a new look for recent FSU teams and bodes well for the future. Hated Brent took the loss but happy for an FSU/ACC win.
