I’ve followed realignment closet for awhile now. I’m pretty confident now that this will be the SEC soon.
If so, how would y’all feel about it?

Please we are spending money to get out of the ACC to join a conference that makes a little less. Sure. ROTFL!

The teams that are left over after clemson and fsu depart may go to the b12, but not clemson.

I’ve leaned more towards the Big10 making a play to get a footprint in the southeast. But I’d rather see Clemson in the SEC. Makes more sense geographically

Neither SEC or BIG, Clemson will be going to the Super Conference of 64 teams with divisions and playoffs. There will be relegation for the bottom feeders and the top D-2 schools will replace them. Coming soon to a school near you!

Wait..they are Baby Blue Bloods and lose to Tigers 8 out of every 10 games in FB.
So maybe since they would give SEC coverage in N.C.~

That’s a nice pipe dream. But we are no where near that. Maybe in 10 years. No way Pettiti or Sankey let that happen. There’s no incentive for them. They make too much money as commissioners.

ESPN has until February of 2025 to “opt in” to the remaining portion of the ACC-ESPN TV deal (2027-2036).
Some have reported that behind the scenes ESPN has already planned to decline that option, dissolving the media deal in 2027. Per a source “The ACC is no longer fits into their business plan.”
There will be no GOR come 2027 one way or another.

Makes me sick that some of you claim to be Tigers on this site and are praying for the most damaging thing for Clemson football and sports in general that you can! It is often said ' Be careful what you wish for cause you just may get it'! I have only known of Clemson as ACC or Southern Conference and none of those other cats (SEC) have ever respected us! Whatever you suspect that the ACC has done to us we have done to ourselves...we a re the crown jewel of the ACC...we will be the orange haired stepchild of the SEC..they already have two tigers, one wildcat and a bird flu infested chicken!

While I understand the sentiment, the ACC will no longer be viable.
Florida State and Clemson are 100% OUT of the ACC, their lawsuits are just outward evidence of that.
North Carolina is also gone from the ACC. They have more political navigation to wade through in North Carolina, so they are letting FSU and Clemson do the heavy lifting. But UNC is not staying in the ACC either.

Clemson didn't create the situation they are in. They are pretty much forced to look at different conference options. The financial gap has become to big for Clemson to compete with SEC and Big 10 teams in the future. Like you I would love to stay in the ACC but things have changed. It is difficult to compete when you are 40 million dollars behind your competition.

All the information I’ve seen to this point:
Clemson is OUT of the ACC this summer.
Clemson lawsuit against ACC needs to be settled before SMU/Calford become voting members 6/1.
ESPN is in full control of ACC realignment. It is believed that they have already decided to decline their ACC TV deal in 2027. Which ends ESPN’s relationship with the ACC in 2027.
Until then ESPN will move the properties they want to keep into the SEC. Any school that goes to the B1G will only go because ESPN got something in return from FOX.
As of today sources I’ve seen say FOX has only approved full shares for Notre Dame, Florida State, & North Carolina.
Everything I’ve see. From the North Carolina said is that they prefer the SEC. ESPN doesn’t want to have the B1G/FOX overstep too much into the southeast so they will provide the SEC incentives to accept Clemson.
I see a UNC/Clemson combo to the SEC (with a potential for UVA as the 19th team but UVA has been silent).
I see Florida State to the B1G with the B1G gunning for Notre Dame as the 20th team.
Clemson will 100% have a spot in a Power 2 conference because it’s what ESPN wants.

UNC BOT and admin want to join the SEC. That I have a good feel on.
Some have reported that Clemson is trying to tie themselves to UNC to get into the SEC.
I haven’t been able to confirm that the B1G would agree to pay a full share to Clemson (not over their first choices). No B1G insiders have heard recent Clemson to B1G chatter.
Clemson would not be suing without assurances of a P2 landing spot.
ESPN is in control and surely doesn’t want to lose Clemson to FOX/B1G.
It’s me piecing all the info together.

SEC won’t kick out Vandy but they WILL go to 9 games in 2026 when the SEC expands.
ESPN will pay for the 9th game IF the SEC agrees to take in Clemson, UNC, etc. ESPN wants to consolidate their inventory and the SEC wants to be paid more.
This is their compromise.
