Jake Bentley is probably the best QB playing college ball that should still be in 5th grade. It helps that his surrounding team has the talent level of a mediocre middle school team, makes him look more natural. He's showing great promise and hopefully will finish 6th grade this year and move up to JV team soon.

last weekend and had a coot tell us that Bentley was a Heisman quarterback.

I asked him what made him think that and his only reason was that Bentley was so young. We countered his young argument with DW's age and early enrollment at Clemson. (Not to mention that age has nothing to do with Heisman qualifications...)

When I explained that Bentley won against very weak competition last year he got the sad. He started to realize that maybe all the stuff he was hearing and repeating was not exactly right.

It was a decent conversation all in all, but I have to wonder about the echo chamber that surrounds gamecock football. The fans have themselves believing all kind of stupid stuff.
