I don't follow soccer so I may be off the point by asking...

How does Noonan not get any consideration for coaching the USMNT?

Generally speaking, candidates are successful domestic club managers or former national star players who’ve moved into coaching. While Mike Noonan has a lot of playing and coaching experience, none of that experience is at the international level.

My take is……..

The politics of being a US National Team Soccer Coach, is roughly equivalent to the politics you’d have to navigate if you worked for the United Nations, the European Union, OPEC and the Mafia….all at the same time.

Yea I cannot imagine the politics surrounding the US soccer program. Got to big a tough gig for the men’s side seeing the current history on the women’s side.
