Do any of yall still go to fireworks shows when kids are older?

I completely understand going when people have kids 10 or under, I understand if you are on the lake and can cruise out to the marina and watch while sipping. I understand buying yourselves and having the fun of lighting them and blowing up shiat.
But for instance, Mom sent me a link to the Gville downtown one at Unity park trying to be helpful I’m sure. But with no young kids I for sure would rather get an enema than go down there to park in 90s temps, have to bring chairs, wait till 10pm to start and then have to battle traffic out all for some pretty colors in the sky.

No. We go up to the rooftop pool, float and watch. This year will be in LBC with little Pabst, not sure what she'll want to do...but in LA its fireworks everyday till Trump leaves office 😉

firework called "Super Bulldog Salute"? Looked just like an M-80, and just as powerful or more? It may have been a mostly local thing, but I know they were around awhile in South Carolina in the early 60's.

I actually feel more for the veterans (and dogs) in the neighborhood who I know have a hard time with them. I used to love fireworks as a kid, but as an adult, they're more "meh" for me now.

every #### day and the only people who would have cared were related. As I've grown older, moved into more densely populated areas, and learned of issues you mentioned; I've decided that people who shoot fireworks in suburbia are doing at least 50% because they know it pisses people off. These type folks wake up trying to figure out what type of ####### they will be today.

that's exactly true. If they thought something would get a reaction from others, good or bad, they'd keep doing it, no matter how stupid it was.
We've had random fireworks going off for the last week, and every time my old golden retriever heard them he about shat himself. We had some pretty loud thunder this morning and he jumped in the bed on top of me and woke me up with his shaking.

from all the others. Yeah they change in quantity, length of show, and variety (somewhat), but are all basically the same.
The ONLY thing that I recall that wowed me as an adult was being in a plane on July 4th and seeing the dozens and dozens of different fireworks from the sky, especially on takeoff and approach near cities. Fireworks blasting everywhere you looked.
If you ever get the chance to fly on July 4th, take a dusk-to-nightfall flight.
