Coastal baseball in the past 10 seasons:
8 NCCA Tournaments
4 Super Regionals
2 CWS Appearances
1 Natty (and potentially a second this weekend)
You aren't going to find many schools that can match that.
"Easier path"
* Selected to host their regional - they created the path. And ECU was certainly no pushover.
* Swept Auburn on the road in the Super Regional - Auburn was a top ranked team all season.
* CWS wins over Arizona (they knocked out UNC) and Oregon St (#8 national rank)

So many people, like professionals who cover college baseball, picked Florida to win the Coastal regional and you're right, ECU is no slouch either. Before the tournament started we would have argued that Coastal had the hardest of all the regionals on paper, but they're so legit they made it look easy.

No easy path for anyone when you make a regional, and you have to be playing very well to make it through 2 regionals. Pulling for them to win another one. Taking down LSU or Arkansas will make me very happy.

I’m proud of them but Even though I went to Coastal, I would have a million times rather us be in that position & I believe Eric will get us there! He’s still growing as a coach, never count him out.

That's when you know you've arrived. Because an eSECpn team can't possibly be beaten by a non-eSECpn team, being "built like an eSECpn team" means an eSECpn team really just got beat by another eSECpn team, which happens all the time so no biggie.

That would be an insult to Coastal. They are built for Omaha. Elite pitching and solid hitting that doesn't reach for the fences. They will give LSU (most likely) all they can handle.
