When the ESecPN homers are saying he took plays off on national TV, that's not good.

Maybe not yet - but give him Georgia's O-line next week and it should be. Only 3 tackles (which I missed seeing - I did notice a couple of plays when he might of helped) against UNC doesn't even give him honorable mention for the chickens' player of the game.

UNC schemed around him, and most teams will do the same. You can scheme around a DE, or a WR, but not a QB or RB, really.

I don't care how you scheme around him big players show up. We are talking about a #1 pick and what we saw last night doesn't cut it. Do you think teams didn't scheme against Hopkins last year? How did that work out for them?

he just got manhandled most of the evening by the UNC lineman primarily because he was clearly out of shape and quit on many plays.

Oh, I thought it was obvious that they did.

If they didn't throw a screen or run away from him, then UNC had two players to account for him on just about every play. They hardly threw the ball down the field...I think they averaged about 7 yards per completion. I thought his impact on the game was significant, just because of how limited NC's offense was. But I don't think he'll sniff a Heisman.

I don't think I've ever watched them play otherwise, so I don't have a point of reference. I thought they did a lot of dinking and dunking, and it appeared to me that may have had a lot to do with #7's presence, if not his actual performance.

Maybe his lazy #### will be sick when we play you this year. Nah, he'll have a field day. If he can do that being "lazy," what does that say about your team?

He was huffing after 5 minutes. And did not come close to being on the field for 60 minutes... UNC did have the ball some of that time and this dude sat out half of the coot plays.

When asked about UNC's All-ACC tackle, "I wasn't really impressed like I was against the guy from Michigan". Not sure how a game with 3 tackles, no TFl and no sacks isn't comparable to a game with 4 tackles, a forced fumble and no sacks.
Guess he would have been more impressed if the tackle would have left him unblocked on a single play to blow up a running back?

I find all of this funny. The media built him up into a

Heisman contender all summer, and now they tear him down after 1 game.
The guy it still a great player, it just turns out that he is human despite the media spending 8 months convincing everyone he was Superman.
As for his supposed Heisman candidacy, Suh didn't win it in 2009 after putting up 12 sacks, 20.5 TFL, 85 total tackles, 1 INT, 1 FF, and 3 blocked kicks, so it would take one helluva year for Clowney to have any real chance. The only thing he really has going for him that Suh didn't is all of the preseason hype, but that can go both ways.
