Look like someone has done their homework and someone has not. Mace presents her case like an attorney without being one.

well rons, the right to vote is guaranteed in the constitution and our 14th and 26th amendment further strengthen these rights. Everything Mace listed is NOT guaranteed in the constitution. And she is not an attorney, her degree is in journalism. If the State governments want to require IDs for voting, they can provide them free of cost and with no burden upon the voter. The idea should be to make it easier to vote, not harder. but hen, we all know how that will turn out for the GOP don't we?

Wouldn’t be a problem if 80 million non-citizens weren’t in the country.

I did not say Mace was an attorney. I agree with you that states should provide free ID. One can not really live a normal life without an ID. With African-Americans and Hispanics overwhelmingly supporting voter ID, I join them in this goal. I'm not wishing to suppress any legal US citizen from voting. Supporting Voter ID and wanting to inhibit voting rights are not one and the same.

Did not mean to bark, but we agree then so that is good. I just do not care much for Nancy Mace is all. I think she is a stooge like many others, but that is just my opinion and nothing more.

Anyone who states facts about the capital riot are stooges?
It was an insurrection It was not an attempted coupe The only death was a protester Minimal weapons were confiscated There was significantly more damage and death at BLM riots

No offense taken. It's ok to disagree too. We seem to have lost that concept in this country. Both sides, right and left seem to have forgotten that. I personally don't think Mace is a stooge and agree with her far more than disagree, but do think she is extremely ambitious and overexposed as a first term member of Congress. Her eye is on something more than the 1st Congressional District of SC. I don't want to compare her to AOC, whom I disagree on virtually everything, but the media hypes both and AOC has her eyes on Schumer's seat for sure.

and she took down that lady like she would you in a bar fight.
Your deflection tells it all....do you think that our founding fathers were thinking about Driver's Licenses when the Constitution was written? Liberals LOVE to say its a "living document" which can and should be changed at a whim.....so where do you stand? You want the Constitution to be literal document not to be changed? Or a "living document" as you all love to throw around?

This is one of the dumbest talking points I have heard on this issue.
Dems say that requiring an id to vote is racist and you seem to agree with them. And you think the reason it's racist is because voting rights are in the constitution? And requiring an ID for banking, alchohol, mortgage, etc are not racist because they are not in the constitution?
Are you saying African Americans are too incompetent and don't have the means to get an ID?
What would your solution be? Just let everyone that is physically in this country vote without documentation or ID?

The constitution does not guarantee 99% of what is given out by the government.
You can hide behind what you think are loopholes or amateur attorney arguments, but the fact is EVERYONE ALREADY HAS AN ID BECAUSE IT IS A PART OF EVERYDAY LIFE. Everyone of voting age has an ID. Not hard to understand. Okay, let's say 99.5% of everyone old enough to vote has an ID. I would be happy to pay for the .5% of voters to get their free ID. That's ~750,000 people. Nothing in terms of state or national budgets.

If you are against Voter ID, you are amoral, unethical, dishonest, etc., etc., etc. But that is status quo for dems.

The right to keep and bear arms is also a guaranteed right via the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution but I still have to show an ID when I go to buy a gun. The Constitution does not require me to show an ID but I still have to provide proof of who I am.
Everyone who is entitled to vote should be able to do so. Providing valid identification to vote does nothing to violate my voting rights any more than showing an ID to purchase a gun infringes on my 2A rights. In fact, I'd be in favor of making the process to vote the same in complexity as buying a gun. After all - both are guaranteed rights in our Constitution.

I'm fine with voter ID as long as it is provided free of charge to all US citizens.
In other words, FREE and fair elections. Right republicans?
