Postseason isn't fun for Clemson

Got beat by Texas in football and softball, got beat by Nobody State in basketball first round, and now the baseball team just crapped on their own field. This academic year has been dreadful in postseason.

The only Clemson team in postseason this academic year to actually exceeded expectations is our softball team. Even tho we lost a couple heartbreaker games to Texas to end the season, I’m still proud of our softball team. Nobody expected us to win the acc this year or go toe to toe with what might end up being the eventual national champs, but we did. We even had our best finish in softball ever this year and took one step forward to going to OKC. Next year we just have to win 2 super regional games and we are in the women’s CWS for the first time ever.

What expectations? Some of us appreciate the fact that all three major teams made it to the post season which is rare for Clemson and has never happened for your coots

No true Clemson fan is just happy with the basketball team and baseball team collapses ! That is just absurd to suggest we should be happy about that .

Let me dumb it down for you.
Clemson baseball had expectations to get to Omaha this year. Heck our coach even said that was our expectation, but we fell way short of that goal. So that’s one expectation not met.
Then with basketball the expectation was to at least get past the first round and some people even had us going to the final 4. And what happened? We lost to an at best mid team. So that is expectation number 2 not met.
Now the football team is in a grey area when it comes to expectations. Yes they lost in the first round of the cfp but I don’t think that was such a shocking loss for us. Also Clemson did end up winning the acc so maybe they did meet expectations with winning the acc and making the cfp.
Now all this brings me back to Clemson softball where at the beginning of the season and start of the season no one thought we would be able to win the acc and go far in the tournament. Heck even right before the acc tournament started most people didn’t have Clemson winning it. Also right before our super regional series, all these softball “experts” had us losing big to Texas in a blow out and not even wining one game. But we did win a game and played Texas close the last 2 games.
So with these reasons is why I think out of all the Clemson teams this academic year, the Clemson softball team is pretty much the only team in my opinion that exceeded their expectations. (Although I guess you could also say the football team exceeded expectations as well since in the middle of their season last year, people didn’t think they would play in and win the acc. Let alone make the cfp.)
Now all this isn’t to say that I’m not proud that all our teams made post season. That is a great accomplishment, but what I’m saying is that some of these teams didn’t meet the expectations that were set by most people.

You can still be proud of a teams season but still acknowledge that some expectations weren’t met, and that is exactly what I am saying.
