I’m amazed we couldn’t recognize a blitz or make an adjustment to block for it.

Because they teach combo blocking. The reason they do that is because they can't get the OL men to stay on their own blocks. It' not even Division I football. This is HS stuff.

That's not true , but it's not exactly a lie either. We had very solid OLs in the Ford era , and here and there we've had some good groups.
This geoup got worked last night ...but a lot of Cade's struggles were in not recognizing what Tennessee was doing pre snap .

Clemson's OL aren't coached to play at this level. We had three rivals 100 OL starting and not one could block a single guy.

This is where I would use the portal. The invisibility forces that rank HS players are proving to be wrong more and more often. It seems like evaluating OL’s in HS would close to impossible because they rarely face anything like the monsters they have block in college. Plus’s it takes at least a year to grow them big enough. So why not just grab grad student lineman who’ve already proven they can block in D? An all conference MAC or Sunbelt guy is a way safer bet than a top 100 HS guy.

Get grad students to avoid messing up Dabo’s culture or violating his ethical code. There isn’t anything inherently evil about going to grad school at Clemson. Get a new set every year. They will already be huge, and they will already have BS degrees in blocking.
