Exactly, we've been hit hard with the injury plague and it seems it's gonna be another season of it with all that's out now with injuries. Hopefully it's just residual injuries from last season and they all heal up quickly and stay healthy.

Speaking of injuries we win the 15 NCG if not for Mac Alexander missing the game and Shaq Lawson playing hurt not being able to even get in his stance. Then being without Cain and Williams (who was out the entire season). With even just having Cain I think we win but being without Mac hurt us big time with OJ Howard running wide open multiple times for scores and huge gains.

I agree. It was the perfect combination of offensive skill positions and an elite defense that led us to our two NC. Also the culture that Dabo created. Our guys played with an edge and an us against the world mentality.

3. CW42 - I think his leadership is sometimes underrated and was almost as impactful as DW4 and TL16.

Tennessee, Florida, Miami, and FSU took a step back in recruiting... we were able to swoop in and snag some of their talent that they would've usually gotten in the 90's/00's.

I totally disagree on Venables. He had great players.
His calls were always late and he’s a bad person off the field. Recently I talked to a couple of guys that didn’t sign with him and when they did the right thing and called him to inform him they were going elsewhere, he cussed them out. Both went on to the NFL so I would think he was wrong on both counts. Dabo is the brilliance that made Clemson great, not Venables or anyone else. If that’s not the case, then just bring back a Bowden and save money by paying him less.

Very astute observation, they did not exist. However, after a return to the playoffs this year you will see it may not always matter. For one thing, Cade Klubnik lost one of the first games he’s ever started last year in your bowl game. The kid is just a winner.

While I do think Clemson is good enough to make the playoffs with Garrett Riley here, I do not believe we are good enough to win a national title.
We aren’t one of the top 4 teams anymore. The talent gap between us and other elite programs grows each year. At some point, it becomes too great to overcome.
If Clemson had utilized the portal in recent years, I believe we would have been better. We needed DL in 2019 after losing the Power Rangers. We needed WRs in 2020. We needed OL and WRs in 2021. We needed CBs last year after listing Booth and Goodrich.
Holes will always exist in every roster. The portal allows you to close them. Dabo, to his credit, stays loyal to the guys he already has. We fill them with inexperienced players that aren’t ready. Other teams grab someone from the portal instead.

the Power Rangers coming back for a last tour is for sure what got us the last one in the 2018 season, and was highly influential in the 2016 one as well. It was easy to see what happened the next couple of years when they were no longer here.
I still say 2018 Clemson vs 2019 LSU would be an all-time game. Punchable Face Joe Burrow would not have had time to sit in the pocket and pick us apart. It would have been a helluva lot closer game, for sure, if Clemson did not win it outright.

Our fan base was fed up with being a laughingstock and Charlie Brown with the football pulled back Every time it looked like we were actually going to win a big game. We told Tommy Bowden we needed a championship or he needs to go, and off he went. Clemson fans, the administration, IPTAY and the athletic Director all started rowing in the same direction and gave Dabo the tools to recruit and assemble a national championship team. Without The passion, the financial commitment and high expectations of the fans, Clemson football would have never risen from the ashes
