How about go independent.... its crazy but screw it. Dabo is going against the grain, why no go "All In" on it all. We keep the money we earn instead of a communist revenue sharing agreement.
We could make a Clemson channel and have D Hood be the next Chris Berman.
JK could come on from time to time to give updates on basketball.
And there will be a channel of 24/7 split camera view of the Oculus and the Rock so we can turn it on and look at it anytime.
At every sunset, there will be a break to watch the sun set over Clemson.

Well Bob, the only money we share is bowl money and unless we are in a Playoff game, we loss money on bowls. You also forget that being an independent would be a killer for tv money because we would have no network because we are in a small market with little national pull. No go.

I’m not saying to go independent, but we don’t average the ratings we do without national pull.

The SEC and B1G is not stupid enough to share the pie with fifty, or more, at the table. There is only about a dozen teams that 80 percent of the viewership on television watch. If a super conference is formed there has to be some parameters for membership. Amount of money invested in football, viewership, you would think a minimum stadium size ...... say 70,000 etc.

So the SEC is going to dump these teams with less than 70,000 seat stadiums?
Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Ole Miss: 64,038 Faurot Field, Mizzou: 61,620 Davis Wade Stadium, Mississippi State: 61,337 Kroger Field, Kentucky: 61,000 FirstBank Stadium, Vanderbilt: 40,350
And the B1G will drop these teams:
Kinnick Stadium (Iowa) – 69,250 Ross-Ade Stadium (Purdue) – 61,441 Memorial Stadium (Illinois) – 60,670 SECU Stadium (Maryland) – 54,000 Autzen Stadium (Oregon) – 54,000 Memorial Stadium (Indiana) – 52,656 SHI Stadium (Rutgers) – 52,454 Huntington Bank Stadium (Minnesota) – 50,850 Ryan Field (Northwestern) – 47,130

We will be there? Where? We do not offer a lot in terms of market value. And the state we are in is small in terms of population. I would like Clemson to end up in either the SEC or Big 10, but am not sure if either conference is interested. They have not mentioned anything about Clemson. And the media, for the most part, thinks FSU, UNC, and Virginia are the most desirable schools. Hope this is all wrong and somebody expresses some interest. We should find out pretty soon.

Vanderbilt will not be included. The move to align the two conferences for their think tank discussions is all about putting the new infrastructure in place. The power schools will all compete essentially as independents in football in one of the two divisions. All other sports will still have a conference alignment.

We will be there because we draw ratings. That’s not orange colors glasses, that’s facts with empirical data to back it up. Markets are irrelevant, and have been since streaming took off. Not only can we watch any game, from anywhere right now, the “markets” are completely saturated with the various conference networks and as a result, when you add a new “market” you aren’t adding any carriage fees. The reason for this is all the conference and league networks are packaged together, so when you pay for one, you’re getting the others. This is also why you’re seeing Disney/ESPN begin to transition to DTC, because the carriage fees they used to get fat off of, are shrinking or drying up all together. This round of realignment is being driven by TV dollars, and TV dollars are driven by the eyeballs watching the product, not by the carriage fees they would previously get whether someone is watching or not. UVA and UNC will be included due to being flagship schools with good academics and successful Olympic sports, but they will be tag-along with someone who does bring the eyeballs, bed neither of them do, even when they’re relatively good (see NCSU drawing better ratings than UNC). With Clemson being one of the 18 schools that drive 80% of the CFB viewership, there’s no chance they’re left out.

It may take a few years, but we will have (4) 16-team divisions and the division champs will be the first 4 in, with a first-round bye. IMO, there is too much money involved for it to go any other way
