I’m thinking when the next phase hits it won’t be people joining the BIG and SEC but the whole group of 32-48 teams will just be one big association eligible for the CFP. Everybody else gets crumbs and Vandy and Duke and Northwestern type teams get left out in football. You can still get a few cross country matchups during the season and there will probably be one or two weekends for playing non association teams to throw them a few crumbs TV wise. The season won’t get dragged out to 16 or 17 games and it will determine a truer champion with a more shallow pool.
