The NFL figured it out.

The governing body (owners) figured out each of them prospered more if the entire league prospered. They figured out a way for Green Bay and Jacksonville (bad example) to be competitive with NY and LA.
Once they get to the SuperLeague, the big money schools will either figure out a way for more than 10 teamd sot be competitive, or they will all suffer - including the big money schools.
The road from here to there will be filled with potholes. But, it will be temporary. They will get there.

Out of control spending of money and unequal equity among “the league” will require a more defined structure and governance. There can be no monopolies in a thriving business of many members.
I am old enough to recall discussions 15-20 years ago that college football at the highest level would be pared down to super conferences. Lo and behold, 20 years later here it comes.
In my opinion it will be like an nfl lite. Two conferences with several divisions all competing for playoff spots. Probably 16 teams will ultimately get in.
Huge money. Player compensation will be governed like the NFL, with caps etc. You can Joe QB as much as you want, and it’s the school’s responsibility to structure their overall cap.
NIL is like players in the NFL earning extra money for an advertisement or commercial or an endorsement of some sort. The just giving mioney to kids for no contractual return will have to end. If you want to pay a kid $1M to make a radio ad, then so be it. But there’s gotta be something to show for NIL. Can’t be straight pay for play as some of these programs are doing.
Change is coming. That’s why I’m not going to get too caught up on the current chaos.

Must have a NFL franchise model, the league is the franchisor. Each university is a franchisee.
Once the franchise model is in place, it is super easy to have governance, collective bargaining, rules uniform rules and parity with respect to resources.

I don’t see it. They are recruiting the same as always. Ole Jimbo had the number 1 recruiting class one season at A&M. It’s hard to maintain because everyone can’t play. USC has the number 1 recruiting class right now followed by UGA. The big Brands that normally recruited well are still recruiting well.

The Texas schools are darlings of the media. Texas and A&M have been rich all my long life and Clemson has had a better football program than either of those schools for the last 40+ years. Yaknow, what happens on the field of play counts more than money or the ratings given to recruiting in my book. Check our lifetime results against Ohio State too. Look at the overall record of Dabo over 17 long years against the combined teams of the SEC and Big 10.
Negative Nancy's should get off the Roy Bus. The Roy Bus rides just fine.
Go Tigers!!

Color me a negative Nancy if you will. Your statements are spot on. Dabo has riden the roy bus very successful. But that was then.
Dabo will absolutely exceed against all others on a level playing field. Well that field is no longer level. Others have pointed out good solutions. But until those solutions are put in place and ENFORCED, we'll continue to fall behind. I'm disgusted with what's happening, but I'm proud that Dabo's not caving in. Question is, how long will Dabo stick around in this crazy crap.

Just food for thought- this is a more talented class on paper then the one that won the 2016 National Championship.
Clemson is NOT falling behind.

Remember 2 or 3 years ago when TigerNet flunkies went ballistic when A&M signed "the best class ever" because of money? Nobody else does either because it made no difference at A&M and will not make a difference at any school now either.

I agree. The NFL as it is is terrible, but it’s not just signing the class, it’s keeping them. The transfer portal counters it.
These really good kids aren’t sitting on the bench as much, waiting their turn. Some of these kids go to to 2 or 3 schools before they graduated go to the league.
Not to mention the busts

Well our alumni has to step and give more 💵…if we want to compete w the big boys. If not, than everyone needs to stop complaint and be happy with a top 15-20 recruiting class!

We are kicking your asz in recruiting. As we’ve seen over 125 years, your pathetic school and football program will never be as good as us. You have Clemson Derangement Syndrome. Or, maybe you’re just deranged, I’m not sure.

When I look up “Richest American University Alumni Bases”, I get, in order, amongst D1 schools.
Stanford USC Michigan Duke CAL Northwestern
The Ivy’s do top the list, but I don’t think they’ll go there.
If those school listed above decided to start buying Championships, I believe the rules would be changed, to stop them. At this moment, it’s appears USC might be heading in that direction. I wouldn’t discount them. They have very deep pockets.
INTERESTING STAT - ACC has 3 schools with the richest alumni…….SEC has zero.

Well Duke is going to spend its money on basketball, so not really worried about them, nor many of the other wealthier schools. I just got back from a golf trip to Nebraska, playing four very successful golf courses/clubs. Each had a different model to attract players and members, but each was doing very well. Every school does not have to do it exactly the same or it does just become a race to see who can spend the most money. I like what Dabo is doing and he is setting us apart from other schools ....... and in a good way I think.
