it's amazing how far the program has fallen since all those really good teams under the direction of Tracey Leone and then Todd Bramble...what makes it so bad is that the program had gone to 14 straight NCAA tournaments(94-07) but after this season is done it will be a drought of 5 straight years of no postseason

is only in his 2nd year. Hopefully he can recruit hard and get us back to a semi respectable level. I think the players on the current team are so used to losing that they really dont have the drive to fix it.

When you can't win an ACC game in 4 years, I can't imagine what it would take to get someone to come here. A bunch of people have quit the team in past years and either transferred are playing club soccer now (don't blame them, NCAA sports is a big committment)
Our best chance this year is probably Sunday - NC State hasn't won an ACC game all year and also has 5 wins on the season overall. Hopefully the team comes out fired to win one for the seniors.

If you go back to the 07-08 season, we actually made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament (and had made it to NCAA's 6 years prior to that as well) so its not like we have always been bad. Our coach left for Alabama after that year and our new hired head coach pretty much tanked the program

I have first-hand knowledge of the program and would like to offer my opinion.
First, the program began to go down a year or two before Bramble left for Alabama. The coach that took over after him was a VERY good recruiter but unfortunately he was an awful X's and O's coach and even more terrible motivator.
To illustrate how well he recruited, ALL the players he recruited (that went on scholorship) were offered by other big-time ACC and/or SEC programs. Also, someone mentioned how did he recruit with this type of record? Remember, Clemson truly sells itself. The players that chose Clemson did so to a large degree because they fell in love with the school, setting, atmosphere, etc. You know, the same reason a lot of you chose Clemson.
However, one thing that they did not understand was how truly toxic the environment had gotten under the coach prior to the current coach.
All this said, it appears that Radwanski has a chance to turn the program back around. There is clearly a healthier environment around the team at this time. It has not been reflected in the won/lose record in ACC play as of yet. However, they have played better as a team and I expect it to start improving soon.
The players do care and are giving good effort. A win for the seniors on Sunday would HUGE and a good moral booster as they start winter workouts and getting for next year.
