There is a doctor (strongly advised by tour organizers), trainer, senior student managers and trainers (as a reward for 4 years of work), an academic advisor to give talks to the players about scenic and historic sites they’re visiting ahead of time, coaches and an administrator to help communicate and arrange things with tour manager. I don’t see anything wrong with any of these. The big benefit to these trips, in addition to the intrinsic value of exposure to different cultures and historic sites, is the extra practice time with coaches before the trip.

Pj Hall and hunter Tyson we're both hurt last year. They were our top 2 players. That's the equivalent of having our top 14 players on the football team out with injury.

Hate to interrupt your dumbarse logic rant, but 2 out of a starting 5 is 40%, so like 9 football players (maths and all) would be a similar comparison, which actually happened last year +, and Dabo still coached us to 10 wins.

Hate to make you look like a complete bozo, but you do realize basketball teams are allowed 13 scholarship athletes right? We only had 12 on the team last year. Our top 2 players out of 12 were injured for part of the season. 16.66%
The football team is allowed 85 scholarship players. If we use the same dumbarse logic that the OP did, that would be 14 out of of 85 scholarship players.
Again the logic was dumb and I was proving that it was dumb. Move along

I'm complaining about the sheer number of people on the trip. You are making MORE excuses for why the hoops program svcks.

I know your point, but all college basketball teams make these tours. As a school, You can have one every 4 years. The schools don't shell out much money either. Funded through the shoe contracts, NCAA, etc.
A lot of other non revenue sports do these international tours also. Soccer is one of them.
