Boyd’s World says we need to go .500 the rest of the way to sneak into the RPI top 45 which is the usually cutoff for a bid. Given our current record and how much better the competition is about to get there is little chance.

This team will be lucky to finish over .500.

The problem is that at a certain point math gets involved. We’re not hosting. We’re 70th in RPI. We’ve gone 18-8 with our schedule about to get dramatically more difficult. Are we going to get dramatically better? We’ll need to just to tread water. We need to go approximately 24-5 to have a shot at hosting. I think we can throw that out the window. To safely make the field as a top 32 RPI team we’ll need to go 19-10. Very unlikely we’ll perform better against the back half of our schedule than the front. Our best shot will be sneaking in somewhere as a 3 seed with a top 45 RPI if we can go 15-14 or so. Sadly even that will take a pretty sizable improvement in play given that we have 17 games against top 20 RPI teams in the next few weeks.

Zero chance to host. 2 to 1 odds in favor of appearing in a regional. No chance of pulling off the upset. ?? Sorry I'm so negative, just being what i feel is realistic.

I honestly think we are very close to what we were last year. Not sure if and when Taylor gets in the line up if that might possibly shake things up, but we strikeout early and often and those in the tourney normally have good to great pitching. Even if we made a long distance regional I would not expect us to get past that for sure.

Clemson will not get much credit for the early start due to how bad the SOS was. That pre- conference schedule was set up by a coach who wanted wins to take to his boss postseason. I thought this team would go 14-16 in conference play before the season. I’m not sure that’s realistic now . This is a poorly ran program, and has been for awhile. Any coach who comes in here has a total rebuild ahead of him. In spite of what attendance is now, Clemson fans do care about baseball. However, if you continue to run the program in the ground , it will be that much tougher to get it back to where it should be!

No regional. Second straight losing season. Monte gets raise and contract extension. Neff pens another "All is well" letter.

After all the griping on Tnet over the last letter I would sign off on this one as "The Phantom".

The parity in college baseball is surreal right now. I feel like this team could beat anyone or lose to anyone.
Everyone across the country except Tennessee and maybe a few others are beating each other up. I thought this year could be different but after that Pitt series loss it could spell the end for Monte.

Call it optimistic to win 4/5 of them, that puts Tigers at 22-10 with the 2 UGA games, plus 22 ACC games left. At the current rate, Clemson is winning 1-3...maybe a 2-3 in a series. So, at best going 16-8 or at worst 8-16. With no true way to lock it down, looking at 38-18 to 30-36. Somehow, to find a way to put the ball in play will decide which way the season pans out.
