I mean, if we lived in a nation where people had freedom of and from religion, and politicians aren't required to be theologically aligned with the state, this would fly.
But not here! Not in Merica! Get some evangelist con men to lay hands on you and worship you--er, I mean, pray for you!

There's a pretty big rift in that family over Trump

But to be fair, Biden does end it with:
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-one, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-fifth.
I guess Franklin didn't read that far.

I think bring up BS like this, like it's some kind of big issue is idiotic.
He mentioned John Lewis to use his quote that contains " Because human beings are the most dynamic link to the divine on this planet'. Who the eff do you think the "divine" is?
I'm going to give you benefit of the doubt and assume your outrage is fake. Otherwise...it's idiotic.

Christians desperately need to pray.
May 7, 2021, 1:43 PM
|
|
Politicians who don't give a rip about God should shut their mouth about praying. They don't know the first thing about praying. It's a joke.
Any "National Day of Prayer" proclamation worth anything would be filled with a list of the sins of the nation, and a declaration of repentance. Wishy washy language about how praying "makes people feel better" is void of any true understanding of prayer.

I apologize for anything I said that communicated an attitude of superiority. I'm the first in line to need to repent for my wretched attempts at being a good Christian. I would reject any proclamation I would make about a Day of Prayer as well.

Jonah 3 contains a National Day of Prayer
May 7, 2021, 4:01 PM
|
|
I could get behind.
4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

on here, you're like "Well gee, if it gets one or two people to think positively about X, I don't know why anyone would be against Y". But then you're all "BOO PRAYER DAY!".
I still think this is just a really, really long troll game.
