Why Dave Clawson thanked Dabo after Clemson’s 63-3 win last year
Clemson defeated Wake Forest 63-3 last season in Winston-Salem, jumping out to a 28-0 lead at halftime and scoring three more times in the third quarter. Head coach Dabo Swinney says that Demon Deacon head coach Dave Clawson thanked him later on, and while Clawson doesn’t remember it quite that way he does think the game paid dividends down the road. they're both lying.. cause they act like that loss turned wake's season around.. they lost their next game to fsu.. along w/ losses to syracuse and pitt.. w/ wins over louisville, nc state, duke and memphis (bowl game).. so.. if consider going 4-3 a turnaround for the better.. then.. ok, i guess..

I'd put my money on Dabo. Nothing at all wrong with what Dabo said, and I admire Coach Clausen for his saying that it wasn't really our fault the score got out of hand. The truth is, the score could have been 100 - 3, just as easily (had we been an Alabama.

I can see Clawson thanking Dabo after the win just as I can see Dabo thanking Holgersen after West Virginia blew us out in 2012. That's one of the best things that ever happened to our program.
