Orwell: The further a society drifts from truth the more it will hate those who speak it.
What happens when every apparatus built for the purpose for discerning truth is systematically dismantled?

Meanwhile, the Democrats amplify their hyperbolic smears of Trump and MAGA (‘fascist,’ Nazi, Hitler) to brainwash their gullible acolytes into violence.
How long before the next indoctrinated TDSer attempts to assassinate Trump, JD Vance, or a Supreme Court Justice?

A civilization is defined by its ability to discern truth from falsehood. What happens when every apparatus built for that purpose is systematically dismantled?
Bret Weinstein issues a stark warning: we are living through a coordinated sabotage of our truth-seeking institutions. This is not a minor critique; it is a fundamental attack on the very mechanisms of a functional society.
He argues that the assault is comprehensive: • The University System: Once a beacon of knowledge, now a source of unreliable research and curricula that teach verifiably false concepts as truth. The cornerstone of academic rigor has been cracked.
• Regulatory Agencies: These bodies have been inverted. Their purpose is no longer to protect citizens from harm, but to protect the regulators and the system from the citizens they are meant to serve.
• Scientific Integrity: We are left grappling in the dark on critical issues. Determining something as scientifically straightforward as the potential link between mRNA vaccines and turbo cancers should be a matter of transparent data. Instead, we are forced to rely on buried anecdotes and studies designed to fail.
This is the realization of René Descartes' deepest fear—that the very foundations of what we believe to be factual cannot be trusted. We have been severed from the tools of the Enlightenment, left in a precarious state where anecdote replaces evidence and ideology replaces inquiry.
We are now navigating a world without a compass. The predicament is not just dangerous; it is existential. The question is no longer just "what is true?" but "how do we find out, when the paths to truth have been deliberately destroyed?"

This is trash propaganda designed to weaken confidence in our institutions

to allow authoritarian-minded people to rewrite reality for the gullible masses who need somewhere to place blame for their own shortcomings and bad fortune. "See? It's the SYSTEM, not ME!"
None of the 3 things you listed is perfect, but they all work, and they all require constant maintenance and adjustment. They don't require obliteration and newly installed truths.

You choose hyperbole (I.e., implication that huge faults leading to intense public distrust of these institutions = desire to eliminate these institutions) instead of reading it for what it says (‘Americans don’t trust these institutions as ‘sole mission is to serve the public good’).
The issue is that people who reflexively defend these institutions every time that someone criticizes them for descending into self-serving entities refuse to advocate for major reform of these institutions.
Arguing that ‘they did great things in the past, so leave them uncriticized (and free of outside influence to reform them) because they will fix themselves’ is akin to condoning Dabo’s reflexive ‘I’ve done great things in the past, so pay no attention to the decline of Clemson FB over the past 5 seasons’ excuses.
(?). Do you recognize the Orwellian nature of your defense of the establishment’s campaign to discredit (also shout down) criticism of these institutions as being ‘trash propaganda designed to weaken (aka via speaking in opposition to the long standing authoritarian doctrine that these institutions should never be questioned by anyone outside of govt authorities) our confidence in our institutions … and here’s the Orwellian part … to “allow” authoritarian-minded people (which means people who are NOT the authoritarians, but rather being non-powerful people who had the temerity to challenge the REAL authoritarians) to rewrite reality for the “gullible masses” (I.e., those who question what Big Brother says) to blame for whatever?
You may believe that p8le of garbage that you write.
(*). Who were the authoritarians who gaslighted those who started questioning the COVID vax back in 2021 by lying about the safety + efficacy of the vax, and who sent the FBI to coerce FaceBook and Twitter into deplatforming & censoring critics of the COVID vax as ‘domestic terrorists’ whose personal information should be archived for FBI investigations? (Congress, after the 2022 midterms, conducted hearings in which both Zuckerberg [FaceBook] and Jack Dorsey [Twitter - pre-Musk] testified and provided e-mail records proving that the FBI did as I just wrote.)
All gaslighting by you TDSers.
Good news is that all of this TDSer ‘we are not the authoritarians’ BS is bleeding out a little bit every day. Lies start out fast, but truth is slow and steady. Truth eventually prevails as long as censorship and violence don’t squelch free speech. (Congress,

I would agree, however I don't believe we are truly "truth-seeking". We are in an age of creating our own truth. And in that process, we look to reinforce that truth. Tossing out anything that counters it.
We heard over and over again over the past 5-6 years that "you cannot argue with science". I challenge that by saying science is one of the few things left in this world we must argue. Trying to disprove theories makes them stronger. And yet, we roll over and accept whatever theory aligns with our truth.
It is a matter of survival that media outlets, universities and of course politicians continue to keep the lines of true-untrue blurred.

The left has sought to limit free speech and shout down conservatives on college campuses and elsewhere, but DJT is trying to take it to a new level.
Leave the First Amendment alone and the truth can be discerned with a little effort.
Surely you agree with Ted Cruz?

Did we ever find the dog eating Haitians from Ohio?
How embarrassing for the Republic.

The ‘dog eating’ was incorrect. Haitians admit to eating cats, though. Cats are a delicacy to be shared in special occassions.
A couple of years back, I linked articulate Haitians who, while defending Haitian culture in general, admitted to eating cats.
As for the ‘smoking cat,’ residents of Springfield, OH had spoken of sudden disappearance of habitually non-wandering family cats shortly after Haitian immigrants poured into their neighborhoods.
So, the ‘smoking cat,’ to my limited research, was not found.
The City of Springfield, OH, led by a slumlord mayor who raked in big bucks by charging the federal govt high rental rates for housing Haitian immigrants in his numerous low-income type homes, vigorously defended the Haitians. Of course he did; he was making bank on the federal grift gift of paying lavishly to all entities who supported the rapid assimilation of immigrants … whether legally documented or illicitly documented.
Sooo the authorities who were making big $$$ off of the presence of Haitian immigrants disputed the word of low income, struggling Springfield residents who reported their cats as having gone missing.
Now, the question for you: Which side has all three of the resources, the motivation to seek the truth, and legal authority to conduct investigations into the ‘missing cat / Haitian immigrants correlation’? The City authorities or the low income citizens?

That's from a 2009 opinion piece.
Second, you've never read an Orwell book in your life.
Third, Trump and his team are the kind of people Orwell warned against. He would be appalled by this administration if he were alive today.
Fourth, lies and misinformation and hate are the MO of Trump and his followers. You have spread all of them. You're a constant defender of lies and spread them yourself. You have espoused evil and hate on here, including celebrating the death and destruction of Americans in Asheville due to the hurricane.
You are the worst kind of American and person.

The next time that you make a statement … based on something other than what your crazed imagination tells you … will be the first time.
Asserting your powers of immaculate perception and sharing your ‘knowledge’ based on your ‘special powers’ is not a way to create an air of wisdom about yourself.
Wiser people can be found in their bathrobes, standing on the street corner, and shouting at the clouds. Worry not, I’m confident that you can rise up and become one of them someday.

Not sure what the insult is supposed to be in all that word salad, but at least I'm smart enough to check who a quote should be correctly attributed to.
