If I read the financials correctly for Charter Communications, the company had a net profit of $5 billion last year. Charter Spectrum blame Disney and of course, Disney blames Charter. Hopefully, the two sides will find middle ground today.

They (ESPN) desperately want to open up all of their channels on the ever growing app-based platform and charge around $35 a month to viewers for full/direct access.

However, their contracts with the quickly-dying cable/satellite companies prohibit them from doing so.

The quicker they kill of contracts with an entity that is hemorrhaging customers, the quicker that can start selling subs for 3 times the price that the current providers are charging.
