It read as if he became frustrated with the situation and the questioning pushed into personal issues. Maybe he was just frustrated that the media was prying into one of his friend's personal life.

Thought the samething, but I think he was tried of them asking because he didn't have a good answer. Plus think he is sypathetic to DJ cause but man its happening at a bad time for clemson.

I had the same thought after the interview. It's especially weird because Venables jogged past the media and said no comment.
I hope I'm just reading too much in to this. Hopefully he can come back by Louisville.
Now all we can do is pray for no injuries. We at a few injuries away from having a bad defense IMO

If it is something personal and DJ does not want to make it public, what else could the coach say. And if it is personal and medical....he absolutely can not talk about it without DJ's permission

Pagano and Wilkins and Huggins are all very good . The fact that DJ is stepping away , no matter what the reason(s) , should only minimally hurt . From a depth standpoint its a hit for sure , but we have recruited hi talent guys and I think it goes without saying that our coaches are prepared to move forward with this season with who they have to go with .

It is something he hasn't had to deal with much. Sammy lakip and maybe a few others but not normal,in Clemson lately.
He will get better at it. Can't keep brining in 4-5 stars without getting a few head cases or drug issues

Just a wild guess on the situation. Reader has had some issues outside of football that he has to deal with.
Couple that with the possibility that Wilkins may have potentially passed him on the depth chart. Didn't McLain say that Wilkins has gotten the most work with the 1's?
Again, this is just a guess with no knowledge on the situation. I really hope this all works out. Reader is a beast!

Wants to blame him or the program for these things happening. This is just a rash of bad luck. Dabo runs a great program and does things the right way, but it still has to get frustrating for these things to stack up like they have. This will truly be a test. Time to man up with the next man up!

that Dabo just lost his own Dad and is having to handle his grief while trying to stay focused on his very public job. His frustration could be his not being able to grieve properly himself

I can sure understand that. Experienced key guy who I'm sure was counted on for leadership in that unit. Suddenly he isnt there and not due to injury or anything like a typical reason for departure

Don't watch a lot of post-practice interviews, but that's the most flustered I can recall seeing Swinney.
Weird summer for sure. Without doubting the coaching staff's decisions, I'm starting to wonder if some of these dudes aren't cracking under the pressure.

As I said in another post..Dabo has just lost his Dad. He has had to handle his grief in front of a camera. I could very easily see him not wanting to talk to reporters with questions that are trying to find something to write about
