Had never heard the song as I am a 70's/80's rock fan. Wife tells me CMT pulled Jason Aldean's song so naturally I hada look it up. Don't agree with anyone telling me I can't listen to a song but more than that don't understand why any company would take a political stance. Did none of these CEO's watch the bud light meltdown?

I gave it a listen and liked it. I didn’t find it violent or offensive. CMT must be sensoring ideas these days. Not a good way to stay in business.

The big stink is based on some people looking for ways to be offended and others fueling it because they profit from it. IMO the song is ok but nothing special. The offended are reaching on this one but country music is an easy target

Hey Sterling I’m curious about something. Let’s say at halftime of the Duke game we’re winning 13-7 and the offense looks like crap. It’s very possible as it happens all the time with new offensive coordinators. Heck it took Chad’s offense until halftime of the Auburn game.
How many threads or responses will you give at that point trashing the coaches? I know last year you would deliver 20+ posts trashing the staff even if we won.

Pull the song, they pulled the video. Apparently there was some old news footage that included references to racial violence that some found offensive. The song and lyrics haven’t been censored; in fact he actually performed it Thursday night on ABC during the CMA fest. Yes that ABC, the one owned by Disney.

It's asinine. Songs are written to offend people. If you don't believe it, go back and listen to some old AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Beatles, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Hank Williams Jr. The list goes on. If you're not writing something controversial, you're just not writing good music.
I am in no way support any kind of gun violence, but censoring the song to me, is starting to tighten the noose a little too much around speech

It's in front of a courthouse. Probably some public executions took place and libs sure don't like that either.
The fact is that somebody somewhere worried that it could be perceived as racist since most of the looting, pillaging, burning, and violence was committed by one particular movement which is associated with one particular race, and to call it out would offend that particular race who barely listens to country music or watches CMT anyway.
Count on the station to dance some drag queens across the stage, though.

On "Buck and Travis Show" last week, they read all the lyrics over the radio. They said that CMT says it is a racist song and it was pulled. They were astonished as they couldn't find any lyrics that coukd be called racially offensive and I didn't hear anything that I felt was close either. But The Woke will be woke!
