These recruits are doing us all a favor. Our head coach is resistance to chsnge. So know our AD should sit him down and give him a directive on portal usage per season. Its for the overall company (University) well-being. When he refuses, you send him packing for insubordination (with cause) and you are protected from any buyout. The time has come.!

I don’t see Dabo doing well with the portal. He will use it some but most of the players will still come from hs. Considering the hs recruiting the last few years, this could be the beginning of the end.

He has gone out of his way to disparage the portal. He has a reputation for not liking it and not using it.
The few guys we have gotten from the portal have failed to play much on average.
Why would a portal player believe Dabo’s recruiting pitch this offseason? What about our program gives a potential transfer any confidence that we will play him meaningful snaps and prepare him for the next level?
I am concerned that our message will fall flat when it comes to persuading the true difference makers.

This is my very first post ever on Tnet after being a member for years. This comment right here is ridiculous and it’s in no way a Tiger Man would respond (If ya know ya know). I’m sick and tired of the negative and belittling posts and in no way is it a reflection of our great University!
We have very deep and significant issues but these “ego boosting, big man” comments made by many don’t accomplish anything and certainly have to make potential recruits think “is this what I want to sign up for?” How many of these nagative Nancy’s are actually IPTAY members or support our athletics program other than playing armchair quarterback.
The season is over. We are currently not a stellar program and at our lowest after 17 years of UP years. Dabo, our Athletics & IPTAY leadership know desperate changes are needed and I’m fully confident they will come. Def time for a reset so let’s all finish the season with our chest and heads high and finish as best as possible and close it out with a win in Columbia.

Desperate changes have been needed for four years now and they haven’t come. In fact, Dabo has dug his heels in. The only thing that has changed is Dabo has become more contrary and prideful. And recruits don’t flip because of comments on Tnet. They flip because they see the current state of the program and the direction it is going.

Miami University Football were historically known as the "Convicts" and Mr. Stancil has decided to decommit and join the Convicts in Miami. I believe the moniker came during the Notre Dame vs Miami University rivalry whereas the slogan became, The Catholics vs The Convicts. More or less, the 1988 Notre Dame vs. Miami football game (known colloquially as Catholics vs. Convicts). Doesn't anyone know football history anymore? My goodness, you'd think I slapped his grandmother.

Shame. Kids (and adults) don't value and honor commitments. And don't understand what it means to be ALL IN. The NCAA with NIL and Portal have ruined college football. Sadly the adults (ADs, college presidents, Board of Trustees, and booster club members) have ruined it. Lots of blame to go around. Hard to blame the kids. Adults are not leading or setting good examples.

Yeah, I could understand his comment to a degree, but zero class to throw the trolling with the laughing tear emoji.
Who knows what was said. Most of the kids thank the departing team. Most likely it was money. We'll never know, but it would be interesting to know if we bowed out of a bidding war. Or if it was the product he's seeing etc.
I hope our staff (and I'm sure they do) know the circumstances so they can address them internally. Personally I don't see Miami making it past the first round. Highly uncharacteristic for us to ever lose a DL recruit from the state of North Carolina, less so after they commit.

This has been the trend over the last few years. We get 4 star commits and then they decommitt. We replace them with 3 star guys that were well down our list because all the other guys we had rated higher have all committed to other schools. We then say we will develop them but we now don’t have much of a coaching staff to develop them. We don’t use the portal and we end up with a team that is not as talented as it once was with a coaching staff that is not as talented and a record that is now below average in the lowly ACC
